...Georgetown starter Jimmy Saris held the Mountaineers (29-22, 10-16 BIG EAST) hitless until the bottom of the fifth when designated hitter Trent Ridgley knocked out a double down the leftfield line. It was Ridgley who then got West Virginia on the board in the seventh inning as he singled up the middle to plate right fielder Austin Markel who reached on a bunt single.

The Mountaineers put together a final rally down 3-1 in the eighth.

The inning rally got started with a leadoff single from catcher Justin Parks. Then with two outs, left fielder Justin Jenkins reached on a throwing error by third baseman Joseph Graziano, moving Jenkins to second and Parks to third.

...Reliever Daniel Kennedy walked Markel setting up Ridgley with the bases loaded. But Kennedy got Ridgley to groundout to the shortstop to end the inning and avoid any damage.

Georgetown then ran away with the game with a seven-run ninth.

Saris earned the win, improving to 4-6 for the season. The righty allowed one run on six hits over seven innings on the mound.

Mountaineer starter Kenny Durst (5-5) took the loss, allowing three runs on 10 hits over 6 and 2/3 innings of work. The lefty struck out three and had no walks.

Ridgley was 2-for-4 with one RBI to lead the Mountaineers. The Massillon, Ohio, native finished the season batting a strong .391 in conference games....
