If anyone is looking to sponsor, aka make a small donation, to this noble event, give me a holler here or leave me a message. My son needs some more sponsors for this event as this is his first one and many people are sponsoring older players. thanks in advance

Just a “heads up”
The speed/ agility portion of the lift-a-thon MAY be held in the athletic facility east of 20th Street (just beyond the stadium’s east parking lot). Use of the new field turf in Paul Brown Tiger Stadium is contingent on the required ground rubber being added and the final seam work being completed.
Stay tuned…..

Since I was asked, I should also state that it is flat rate and not by the pound. And thank you very much:hug:
In addition, they can sign up and collect from sponsors until June 3.

I was a little worried they weren't going to have it this year. Did they do any advertising back at home? Stu used to have it all over the papers a few weeks in advance. But, I'm not in town anymore so I have no idea if it was or not, I'm just curious.
Anyway, good luck to all the Tigers! Enjoy one of the best traditions of Massillon Athletics!
Good luck to all of the lifters this year.

I wanted to comment on the Lou Young Memorial Lift-a-Thon earlier, but I am just now getting the opportunity. The event went off without a hitch! As those in attendance can attest, the players were really “jacked” in the weight room to begin the testing. Speed and agility training was also well organized at the all weather track at the athletic facility east of 20th Street.
Keeping with Coach Stacy theme of Team Unity and intense completion, I will not single out individual efforts. However two notable observations were:
A day’s best 10’2” stationary lung jump by one of our defensive backs.
A side-by-side 40 yard “race” between a QB and a TB candidate with both finishing with times in the low 4.6s
But what impressed me the most was seeing several of our more experienced players helping the younger players with motivation and technique. Leaders are beginning to develop.
Finally, I would like to extend a big thank you to the Hollanders, the Masons and George Mizer for preparing/ helping with food for the players after the event!
82 days and counting folks…..
