I was not happy about what all transpired...Robert Horry suspended two games/likely the entire playoffs and what not.
But I also can't believe Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw drew one game suspensions too.
This leaves an open door for Tim Duncan to have the game of his life! And I'll be dumbfounded, angry, malevolent, nasty, embittered, defeated if the Spurs don't win tonight. They have something to prove...their pride is on the line and they know who they will turn to.
Duncan will break for at least 34 and San Antonio will take a 3-2 lead against a toughened-up Phoenix team.

You're really going out on a limb with that prediction considering they have just been handed the game with Suns frontcourt suspended. That worked out pretty well for the Spurs don't you think? Trading Robert Horry for Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw...nice.

MTown,
No way Phoenix wins game 5. They have no one in the paint who can stop Duncan. Nighty night Suns.
When it's late in the fourth quarter, look for Popovich to eschew the toughness for hostility. You'll see what I mean.

You mean more cheap shots and dirty play?

MTown,
Phoenix has definitely gotten under the skin of San Antonio and you don't do that against a team entrenched in championship tradition. Now the Spurs will do whatever it takes to end the Suns season FAIAPS...once and for all.
I do however praise the Suns for playing with a toughened resolve, something they missed in the 2005 Western Conference Finals.
You just have my extra value meal ready because I know it's coming.

ChronicTiger,
San Antonio's heart and soul is now entrenched in black. The Suns made that happen and now they will pay dearly  ! You know the Spurs play their best ball when the storm clouds are over their heads.

Massillon Catholic,
I saw the highlights and I'm not trying to send any makeup bs...but I don't believe Stoudemire or Diaw should not have been suspended. I know Stoudemire had one foot on the floor but I don't believe him to have fully come across the floor. I never saw Diaw come onto the floor as the camera was away from him.
But still...my faith and allegiance is with San Antonio!

I'm sure MTown and Keno were sweating while watching this one. The Suns led for 43 of the 48 minutes and had an 8 point lead at 79-71. But then they were outscored 17-6 to close it out.
Keno could be well fed after Friday.

longtimefirsttime,
The Suns were a soft bunch. The Spurs proved it. They were the tougher basketball team! It's all about San Antonio!
MTown can just pack it in and see the Suns go home...no way San Antonio loses game 6 Friday night. They are too great, intense, noted, outstanding, brave, illustrious, loaded, impeccable to lose!

Keno: I was in San Antonio for a week in 2003 when they won the NBA Championship. The city truly loves the Spurs. The parties all week long on the "River-Walk" were unbelievable.

Massillon Catholic,
I am sure you enjoyed your visit in San Antonio. You are right that they love the Spurs as they embody what championship will and tradition is all about (oh...don't forget David Maurice Robinson...1999, 2003).

Robinson retired after the Championship. I have a picture of him and the Spurettes at the Mad Dog Saloon on the River Walk

Has that Wanted Poster of me from our Sales Meeting there in 2004 been taken down from The Mad Dog Saloon yet? I'm just wondering if it's safe to go back yet.

Obviously, it wasn't up when I was there in 2003. However, I made a return trip when the buckeyes played Oklahoma St. in the Alamo Bowl and I think that I spotted it. Did they super-impose a british skirt that the waitresses wear on your mug-shot.

Spurs played really well tonight in their win, Spurs big stars really showed up tonight .I forgot who said it today but they were talking about how the rules are the rules and the suns players should have been suspended, but the rules need to be tweaked. I am sure that the Spurs coaching staff didn't tell Horry to check Nash but if they did it was a really smart move. The guy talked about how the Spurs only lost a journeymen and someone that wouldn't have that big of an impact in Horry and the Suns lost an all NBA first teamer and his back up.I really hope the NBA takes a look at this rule at the end of the season or else I wouldn't be surprised if this thing happens again sometime.

I can see this happening again as well, as some kind of a strategy move. I'm sure Mike Brown will stress to his players that they must remain off the court when not in the game.
