This may be one the best backfields ever to come through Massillon this coming year. I am really looking forward to watching how Coach Stacy uses this 3 headed monster running attack.

No matter how good the backs are, you still need an O-Line. Hopefully, there have been some off-season improvements in this area.

Very good point. I believe that those guys can get the job done this year behind the leadership of Seidler and Comeaux.

I think that Yoder would be an asset on the O-line, maybe TE.

Again I say, don't overlook this Arnold kid on the O-line. He's going to surprise everyone this year! :iagree:

I'd rather over-look them than to give them much credit before practice even begins!

Coach Stacy mentioned earlier that he cant wait to see Yoder at fullback this year and that he would have played their some last year if he didn't have a broken bone preventing him from carrying the ball. Slider, out!!!

DAAAAYUM! Me too! A 270# fullback w/ wheels leading DT and JT? Thats just unfair. :stars:

Oh man, I need to get up & walk around now.

WOW- I bet Stacy aint telling DT he isin't working hard enough. I told all TTT what the kid was about before he came here and he will show and tell it the world of DI football.

I thought that Gamble was fun to watch, and the Bucks didn't want him. If they already want this kid I can only imagine. I think its time for some old-school football boys. I'm not one for the wing-t, but I might like to see a little of it this year. Does anyone see this years back field looking like McGuire and Ashcraft?:gotigers:

Amen brother. What about the wish bone.Gotta get all three back there at one time, Scary!!!.does any one know if DT can throw the ball at all?Shades of gamble. Can anyone remember our last Ohio state recruit for a running back? I'll tell you with all thats going on in the program at doesnt seem real. Its like a great dream.I just hope all this start to snowball into more Ws.

Did'nt Stacy say a couple of years ago that J.T. would be the best WR weve had since Jordan? His upright style seems to lend himself more to this position.Could you imagine he and G.J.on the flanks?
I'm excited about this years backfield too.The only thing is one of the guys needs to keep the ball off the turf a little better(see Mentor game)Im sure this will be corrected, though.

I thought that Stacy said he would be one of the best RB's to come out of Massillon, which, he will. I expect two backs with 1000 yards each this season.

Our running backs that were recruited by Ohio State, in my memory, would be...Travis McGuire, Bill Harmon, Tommy James.

We should be fair about this... He was recruited by Ohio State before he even transferred to Massillon. So, give Canton South some credit.

I didn't really realize this but from all I have been hearing it seems as though he is a much better player than his brother.

Not to take anything away from his brother either.

Athletically Devon is a fair better complete athlete playing multiple sports but Devoe is definitely the better football player but that is his only sport . Devon would be just as good but loves baseball more than football and Devoe lives for the gridiron.

I know this is off topic, but do you think Devon will go with baseball and not go to OSU?

If it were me, I'd take the money. Besides, he's a better BB player than a FB player.

I probably would take the money as well but Tressel said Devon can play baseball for the bucks as part of the deal and the thought of starting at OSU with your brother on the field with is a big deal for them kids on the gridiron. Devoe may have better skills in football and wanted by alot of programs but Devon is a great DB and athlete and will be an asset to the bucks football team-- he and Eugene Clifford can play soon in the d. backfield.

I am glad Devoe is at Massillon.

From Todd Porter's weekly prep notes column (the usual TP disclaimer applies):
"At a high school football scouting combine last month in Pittsburgh, former Canton South running back DeVoe Torrence, now at Massillon, opened plenty of eyes. Observers say the Ohio State recruit was among the top five at the regional event. Torrence ran a 4.53 40-yard time and had his way in drills with Shayne Hill, a top-rated linebacker from Monroeville, Pa."

We should all be glad he is here. The people who don't know will find out quick.

I saw him play twice last year. He will be one of the best ever to wear a Massillon Tiger uniform. AND, he can HIT!

Can someone find a picture of "DEVOE" (the band) and post the picture. Be kinda cool to have the "Idiots" wearing flower pots to welcome the young'n!

The band's name is "Devo", not "Devoe".

Plus, I'm not so sure that I would appreciate the association.

I watched his defensive highlight on rivals.com and the kid brings heat--slamming and smashing everyone on 1st contact just like when he was in midget league!! He plays with a differant intensity than most kids i have seen in years.

235 tackles, 7 ints, and 9 sacks in 2 years(21 games)----WOW!!!

I am sure that no one took it offensively. Don't worry about it.. Just a funny thought on your part, just not football related. Then again, look at the idiots a few years ago when they donned Viking helmets and hardhats lol:jestera:

I wasn't offended, just not sure I wanted our new player associated with a band who's one hit song was a repeated litany of the glorification of the concentrated inhaling of a substance that was certainly not designed for such a use.

One hit? You must have forgotten 'Uncontrollable Urge', 'Mongoloid', 'Sloppy (I Saw My Baby Gettin')', 'Whip It', and countless others. Not to mention the best version ever of 'Satisfaction'.
