The OHSAA has announced the regional arrangements for the next season (or 2?). Region 2 includes Stark County and continues to have the Toledo area teams. Mahoning County was not added as some had speculated.

Rats, Toledo Whitmer is still in our region. I hope we don't have to play them again. :ohplease:

Especially, if they have the same QB who fools our defensive coaches and runs up the middle.:wtf:

It appears, at least on paper from this early juncture, that Region 2 is slightly tougher. Nordonia and Garfield "clog the playoff picture" a bit more.

Do you mean we might have at least 200 lb LB's?

Slightly tougher than what? Region 3?

No. Region two this season (on paper at this juncture) appears to be tougher than region two was last season.

Are we better off with this region or having the Columbus teams in our region?

I'm with you, Mr. Obiefan, but could someone PLEASE make sure that the coaches are awake and still paying attention at the end of the game?

:thanx:

We may have the opportunity. Hoover should make the playoffs this season. I'd expect another drubbing if we do play them.

I guarantee you that Toledo Whitmer was not a one shot fluke. The Panthers are going be stronger in '07 than they were in '06. They are a legitimate top 10 team this year.

Are you nuts? We should have beat them by 40, just like McKinley did. McKinley backed down in the 2nd half or it could have been 60. Stop the QB up the middle and they are done, PERIOD! They are an average Federal League team.

I'd like to get another shot at Whitmer, and the playoffs might provide that opportunity (We still have a 2-1 advantage in the series thanks to '69 and '70).

In '80, Padua had the guts to schedule us the year after they upset us in the playoffs. However, we're still waiting for Cincinnati Princeton to do the same favor.

Like last year's Whitmer game, those two playoff games sickened me!

Gotcha. Although, I'm not sure Nordonia has any shot to make the playoffs this season. Not only did they lose Mabin and the majority of their starters, they lost their head coach.

Or as Brian would say, "Mabin gone no good Nordonia."

Not that the Tigers can't beat teams like Whitmer (and not taking anything away from Hilliard Davidson or Brookhaven) but I'd rather have the Columbus teams in our region.
They traditionally have not fared as well in the playoffs, H.D. being the exception of course. And we owe Marion Harding don't we?

Things spiraled out of control for Whitmer in the Regional Final; it happens. But to say you should've won by 40 when you lost to them is simply nuts. Whitmer has a rich tradition, and now has a Head Coach that the community is excited about. They basically return all their skill people, and let's remember, their stud RB didn't play in the Ross and Massillon playoff games, and still won without him. As Keith stated, Whitmer will be a load this season, and is my early season favorite to win Region 2.

Did the stud RB play against McK? As far as your reference to "skill people" I don't recall seeing that many skilled players. They won the game and I give them credit. But, Massillon blows that team out 9-10 times just like McKinley did.

Maybe not 40 but Crackerman called me on his way home from the game and said we should have won by three touchdowns. And the fact that we are even comparing a freaking Toledo Whitmer team to Massillon nauseates the heck out of me.

I can relate to the sickening part of the game. Crackerman is right, three touchdowns at least. It seemed like the coaches just weren't ready for the game.
