I am sure that Mr. Fortner made an announcement during school that pranksters will not walk. He has made it in years passed and I don't see why this year is any different.
Although it seems as though not walking is a little harsh in my opinion, if Fortner has said this every year then the students knew the consequences ahead of time and should not get to walk.

MTigers006,
You're really getting the lethality of Kamd50 now. Tell you what...if your pride is on the line (and it certainly is), who do you turn to? You can turn to me. I'll get you out of your quagmire.
Just a thought......:deal:

Keno, stop while you're ahead:poke: And now, to get some of you even more riled up, only 3 of the 5 received the suspension:gasp:

Kamd50,
You really put your fangs through MTigers006 and punctured his pride a bit. Just lending a hand to someone's possibly wounded pride.
It seems everything FAIAPS (For All Intents And Purposes Speaking) will be just fine and everyone is on track to graduate.

I would argue that he put his "fangs" into these kids just as he has the David's generosity and foresight, with his deliberate, relentless, predictable habit of over reacting when it comes to change concerning all things Massillon; and therefore warranted the posts of the majority.

I didn't read it , as charges pending. It said " he didn't know if any charges would be filed". They've already been suspended from school, now there are people who want charges for spray painting '07 on a goat. C'mon:wtf: I don't believe any of the potential charges included Curfew Violations, which I see as the only crime.

if the police want to press charges for any violation of the law, they will do so. it doesn't matter if the school suspends the kids. there's no estoppel based on what the school does.

"Other potential charges are vandalism, cruelty to animals and perhaps trespassing for leaving the animals on school property, DeHeer said."
there are your other potential crimes.

I think that the only charges should be legal in nature. None should have come from the school. This was not during school hours and the violations, if any, were violations of the law. Curfew violation and thats it. The other charges are a stretch and petty. I'm not buying the cruelty charges at all. If the kids fessed up and came clean, let it rest.

If it wasn't for one of the kid's mothers , they could have pulled this off. She thought if they volunteered their guilt, they would get off easy. So much for that idea !!
Lesson in hand: Don't tell your momma , when you are being a bad boy !!:furious:

Kamd50, you need to seriously calm down.
As for this prank, I think it was wrong and I don't feel bad what happens to them. I just feel sad for the torture done to those innocent animals.
Thats all I'm saying

How is trespassing a stretch? If the kids were fighting at Whitter and got charged with trespassing, then isn't it pretty obvious that these kids could be charged with that as well?

You got me. Its public property and they weren't in the school. Unless there is a sign like they have at parks "dusk to dawn"

A good friend of mine and one of the best attorneys ever in N.E. Ohio told me once. "I don't care if they have you on video-tape, as long as you don't say anything, I can get you out of it". Zip The Lip!

Some of his higher profile clients who took his advise and zipped the lip that I recall were.. The baby-face bandit, Adrian Brown (mck), the Perry Officer accused of rape. If you talk, you won't walk!

There are way too many rumors about this, and too many things being said that are not accurate or true.
We at MassillonProud operate foremost and always in the best interest of the kids in Massillon City Schools.
It is in the best interest of ALL the kids, both the accused, confessed, the rest of the senior class, and the underclassmen to let this subject drop.
People have been trying to turn this into a football argument.
It's not.
