i had heard this story when i was in college to become a teacher...each time i hear it, the tears pour down my face...put that together with the visuals and music, and i am sitting here once again, with tears running down my cheeks...
we too often forget the impact we each may have on a child's life...as a parent...as a teacher...as (fill in the blank)...but, we also forget that it carries over into adulthood...people still need people reaching out to them...loving and understanding them...even when they are difficult to love and understand...and actually, inaction may speak louder than actions...
i learned nearly 20 years ago, when my first husband died, that none of us is promised tomorrow...so, it is vital, that each day we tell those we claim to love just how much they mean to us...and not only tell them...but show them...too often we think it has to be in big ways...but, as in the story of teddy...we learned that it is as simple was accepting a gift from the heart...a word of encouragement....a hug when needed...a listening ear...
so, my challenge to y'all today is to not just sit here, and think "what a great story"...but, allow it to move you to action...
who might be a teddy in your life today???
I know that the story was made up. I felt the same way when I watched it. I recieved it in an email about a year ago,but it was just in a story form. I thought that the way it was presented here was totally awesome. And yes I teared up too and I am going to try for the rest of my life, not to leave someone out.
