Ginn's a reach at the 9 but he'll make it difficult on defenses when they need to stop he and Chris Chambers. I just think Miami should've took a chance on him since they've tried about 300 QB's since the Marino era ended. Perhaps Trent Green is the answer.

BTW! I'm not real sure why Ohioans hate Quinn so much. He wanted to be a Buckeye but wasn't Tressels guy, he wanted to be a Brown but wasn't Romeos guy, and I still think he played on very mediocre ND teams his entire career. As I said on another thread, I think he would have been great in an LSU uniform and Russell would have been average at best in a ND uniform because of the talent differences. Russel had Bowe and Davis running wide open all over the field at LSU and the talent on LSU's team was much better at most positions (and perhaps QB was one of them) without a doubt.

I think that Ginn was taken for special teams potential. That is becoming HUGE in the NFL.

I was shocked at this pick. I know way thought he would go top 10 and honestly thought not top 15.

Monte....Great call. You were absolutely correct.

TWBT, I agree with your comments about Ginn on special teams. Do you feel he will make a good NFL receiver, however? If he is only ever a special teams guy, is this worth a top 10 pick?

IMO he could be a shutdown corner.

Please quit giving TwbT credit for my expert observations. Gosh, he'll start thinking he's as smart as I am!!! LOL:pimp:

Ok Carle, give it to us now. What will Ginn's career as an NFL receiver be like?

Obie, I mentioned that several months ago about if he may be better off as a corner.

Austinsm11--- I was right but I though Miami would take Quinn but Ginn jr. will be a GREAT special teams player in the return game and can be a corner or WR in the NFL. Ginn Jr. was rated the #1 corner coming out of Glenville and tressell has been quoted as saying if not for injuries early on in the OSU recieving core that Ginn would have played corner at OSU. He has a bright future in the NFL regardless of what contributions he has his rookie season.

I think we were all shocked at Miami taking Ginn. I was actually thinking that there was no way Ginn would go to Miami or Houston (I think they were next) and that I was correct until my jaw dropped when Miami took him (as did Quinn's)

Monte, do you think he may make a switch to corner or will he stay as a receiver. They kept saying on ESPN how the coach said they were getting a great return man at number 9 one would expect that reciever to be the #1 receiver and the coach never really emphasized that.

His injury is only 80% healed right now and some "experts" in the NFL are saying it's 50/50 that he will ever heal 100% and avoid further problems with it.

I'll give Ginn one-year in the NFL. He's too soft to go over the middle, he won't run punts or kick-offs straight up the field (in the NFL), and he's not strong enough to be a corner. He'll be the Andre Ware, Mike Junkin, Gino Toretta, Craig Powell, Jam, Lam, and Ham Jones, just to name a few of this draft. A WASTED PICK!

Last night Ginn said he would be ready for the start of camp and would opnly have to wear the boot for 4 more weeks. I am willing to bet that Ginn will make it at least 5 seasons baring injury and the ankle heals properly.

Austinsm11--- I dont know what the plans are for Ginn positioning but Gamble played alot of WR at OSU and won some big games for us in 2002 but plays strickly corner in the NFL! We will seein a few months.

Would you have taken him with the #9 pick. Good player (most likely a special teamer in the NFL) but should not have been taken that high.

I am not a dolphin fan andthe HC knows alittle more than I about what he needs. Cameron is a great offensive mind and knows what he wants on offense. I think Ginn, T. Smith, Gonzo, and Pittman and others will surprise some people in the NFL about how conservative Tressell can be at times in his offense when they explode during their respective carrers---IMO! If not get the money why you can and start a businees and invest in future financial endeavors!

Monte81: I have to politely disagree with you. I expect Ginn to exit the NFL based on an injury, whether real or not. I'll give him this season and thats it. He has never possessed any toughness at all. He has blazing speed which gave him a significant edge in college. I expect that speed to be neutralized in the NFL. I say if he runs kick-offs straigh up the field he gets hurt during pre-season. If he takes them out of bounds, which I expect, his teamates will turn on him. Now, he may bust one for a TD, but thats only because of his speed and a break down on special team coverage.. He's no Deven Hester and never will be.

That's fair that we disagree but I often take the odds with players such as Ginn jr. and Troy Smith because of the the mental toughness the have. I think he is better than D. Hester on special teams and on the defensive side of the ball. He will get some TD's because Chris Chambers commands double teams and Ginn jr. can flat out fly downfield. Not many corners can cover him if he gets off the line!! I guess we will see real soon.

I think the Dolphins should pick up Keyshawn johnson since Carolina released due to cap space. He is one of the best 1st down conversion WR's in the league converting over 75% of catches into 1st downs.
