From that article...
On the east side is the campus of Massillon Washington High School, home of the Tigers. On the west side is the campus of Canton McKinley High School, home of the Bulldogs.
Is it me or do I see an edit job by, dare I say it...no I will not...Can't be.

What the blazes does the writer mean, stating that this is ONE of the greatest prep school rivalries in the nation: Sorry, gang, but polls among fans and sportswriters over the decades have repeatedly listed the Canton-Massillon rivalry as THE greatest among high schools. (Grumble-grumble-grumble.)
One other point (just for the record): There is a HUGE difference between the end-season Massillon-Canton football rivalry games as opposed to any playoff games that may coincidentally occur between these two teams. The end-season games ARE the rivalry games. The playoff games are NOT.
These days, everyone seems to include the post-season playoff games played between Canton and Massillon, as though they were part of the rivalry series. Well, they aren't. The playoff games may be important, but they have nothing to do with the end-season showdown games.
The regular season showdown games between the Bulldogs and Tigers have an entire week of pre-game ceremonies steeped in traditions, with parades, bombs, TSB marching through stores, speeches, bonfires, immense gambling, general harrassment of each other, and the whole shebang. Whereas, the post-season games are nifty, but they lack the grand mystique of the rivalry series.
Of course, the writer of that article probably doesn't really know about the things I'm speaking of.
Anyhoo, that's my three-dollar-ninety-two cents on the matter.
Go Tigers! Whup those Bulldogs this year!

Spize -- you gotta be kidding me. I LOVE your huge "M." Keep it that way. It's M-agnificent.
I thought these avatars were limited to 90x90 pixels. No?
Spize, buddy, I'm jealous. I think I'm experiencing something psycologists call p---- envy. (Okay, in this instance that means pixel envy.) Yours is so much BIGGER than mine! (Grin.)
