Didja catch the oopsie in the article: "Joe Shaheen 4/13/07 I would cut this story at this point. If you need some filler, you may want to run the rest of the story.
One big decrease was the amount of bond money that was posted in 2006 – down about $120,000 from $532,000 in 2005 to $412,000 in 2006, Jackson said.
“I really don’t have an explanation for that one,” he said. “It’s hard to say. The bond schedule is the same. It seems that family and friends had less cash to bail people out.”
Another change this year is that an outside agency, Capital Recovery Systems, was hired to help collect some of the old fines and court costs.
“We gave them cases where we did everything we could to collect,” Jackson said, “Some of the items date back to the mid-1990s."
That effort resulted in $34,900 in revenue to the court, Jackson said."

I didn't catch that oopsie. It's common to have editors leave such comments. However it slipped into the online copy (it would be incredibly rare if it slipped into the print version because those are typically flagged in such a way that they're almost always caught).
