What If??????? Hmmmm..........

Since we have a little time before we turn on each other for fun, let's visit an idea some people thought about, but would never say outloud for fear of getting trounced..........

What kind of football team would you have if Massillon and Warren Harding combined to make one huge team? Would it force other schools to think about combining, i.e. Ed's and Iggy? St. Xavier and Colerain? Elder and Princeton? I know it would never happen, the distance is too great, but let us say you never know what the future holds and foreign rules to us now may be the norm in the future. Some might say, if both schools enrollments keep dropping, well, you never know???????

The bigger question here is, "would we all be called Massillon Warren Tigers, or Warren Washington Raiders?"

And I doubt the privates would be fazed one bit... After all, St I, and St X would still have us outnumbered, if not 2:1, 2:1.75... not only that, but they'd still be able to draw from whatever well they draw from while we have our public hands tied behind our backs...

A more realistic future could have Perry and Massillon schools combine. With the talk of regionalism and the benefits of merging school districts we could have a new school district. Of course since Perry is already Massillon Perry no need to change the name of the Massillon Tigers.

Just the occasional moron thrownin to keep the cops busy! (just like us!) I look forward to every time we play them, excepting when they have a young man that chooses to go to that school up north! I remember Maurice Hall running the shotgun in 75, doggone it, we didn't know where to line up! Good luck in 9 of your 10 games this year, Warren!

To specifically address your question: I'd predict remarkable success.

Frankly, to hypothetically consider combining any two of the "top tier" public school teams & coaching staffs... oh, it's making my head spin.

ok <since somebody brought it up.I've often thought of the possibilities of massillon and perry.The Massillon Perry tigers or MPT.We would be a powerhouse of depth and tradition.Even the colors would be cool.Orange,yellow ,and black. Lets talk about this scenario.Does any one think this would or could ever happen?Everytime perry gets into a financial jam they just say, well we are going to have to consider consolidation with massillon.Thats their trump card to pass any levy.I think this would be a logistical and reasonable option for both communities.Whats say yall .

I agree. BUT I would never think of adding yellow or gold or w/e to Massillon colors. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.

If every surrounding school in the Massillon boundries closes down we will still be the MASSILLON TIGERS with no color changes to anything. It would equal a dynasy if Tuslaw, Perry, and Massillon was combined--however that is unlikely.

Attitudes in Perry, being what they are ... they'd only consider consolidation with Fairless & Jackson; certainly not with either of the other bordering school districts to the East or West.
