He was a very strong runner and he was a load to tackle. If I remember right he rushed for over 100 yards every game for Harding expect for 1 his senior year.

I really do not care about idiots ruining careers and educations for stupid @hit every time I pick up the paper!!

 This just leaves room for my boy Morgan Williams to take over the running back spot in 2008 for the Rockets!! However UT has signed some questionable players the past few years but they did get 2 quality kids in Darion and Scassa for 2007!!

Was it him or Delbert F. that left the Massillon-WGH game on a stretcher?

I was thinking it was Delbert Ferguson. He suffered a broken thigh bone, which would be a crushing injury.

He trained under Mo Clarett obviously!

MTown,

Delbert Ferguson was a bull of a fullback and a powerful one at 6'0'', 245 lbs. He reminded me of Marion Harding's fullback from 1998 (name escapes my head but he was more of a Jerome Bettis type at 5'11'', 255 lbs.).

monte81,

Is Darion McGuire looking to play safety and will Scassa stay at linebacker?

Would it have been all OK if he had gone to the right house?

Scassa is slated to play linebacker so far and Darion was recruited as an athlete. During my several one on one talks with the HC-- he feels Darion could compete on either side of the ball and Darion told him he would do whatever the team needs him to play to win football games. 5 Stark County players on the roster--- McGuire, Scassa, Alexander, Williams, and Hariel Moore just was cleared by Harmony Prep to enter his scholly at UT this summer!!

Im sorry but when will the NCAA or the MAC step in on the University of Toledo? They have made a large statement of recruiting "on the fringe" and their program is becomming an embarassment to college football and the game as a whole. Monte, this is not a rip towards the kids going there this year, but how many questionable players must they have until they get looked upon. Coach A has won there, but come on. I would love to know Staffords view on the program now. I respected him as a player and a person and I would love to hear his opinion as an alum of UT.

Mark and I talked when Darion 1st took the deal and we both agreed that UT is a great educational institution but they have taken on a few risks in recruiting to win a few more games. I personally hope that they clean up the act and get it together. Alot of players have been in trouble and some have flunked out completely. They do have however a very high student/athlete graduation rate--- but the questionable kids are making a bad mark on the program. I personally wish the MAC conference would ban the Prop 48 rule and force these kids to be academically ready or play elsewhere! Prop 48 athletes get into more trouble during that off freshman year---- at least a redshirt practices everyday.
