Don't get too excited about coverage from the ABJ on the Tigers. They just announced major layoffs in the newsroom yesterday, including Patrick McMannamon, the Browns beat writer. Once the season starts, it will be Akron area schools only, and McKinley stories. They did the same thing last year, a feature story on Tom Stacy before the season, then nothing until we were in the Semi's.

Well, I read the ABJ every day, cover to cover, and it IRRITATES me that they disrespect the Tigers.

What irritated me the most last year was when McK beat us, it was front page and all over the front page of the sports section, including color pictures. We turn around and whip them and it barely makes a 3 paragraph story on the bottom of the sports page.

It's always been that way. We're the team they (ABJ) loves to hate, unless all of the area teams have been elimated from the playoffs. Then they get on the wagon.

Well they listed us #1 in their pole and the front page of the sports section is: Morgan Williams.

They had him listed as pre-season Offensive player of the year. Again, I think we're getting too much in an uproar about this.

I had to laugh today after reading the Rep. That big o article on our Tigers and nothing on the Dawgs or Trojans. I know the folks in that city didn't like that too well. But, I think that all these write-ups is putting a large target on our Tigers. A lot of unwanted pressure. As if anything short of the title will be a bad season. Hey Tigers, just take it one game at a time and everything will be alright. Saw team Canada at Cici's---------PLEASE,PLEASE thake it easy on them. :gogogo: :gotigers:
