I read in Tiger Don's column about the plans to have all the endzone seating on the north end creating a horseshoe effect,,,didnt remember hearing about that when the plans were announced, that end of the stadium is going to be LOUD !!! Finally maybe some homefield advantage will come into effect.

Can you give us 5 examples in the last 10 years where the atmosphere at PBTS either made the difference or was a huge help in the Tigers gaining a victory?

yeah I guess I didn't remember that they said additional seating was going to be put in....I do remember them saying that the new locker rooms were going to be big with training room and classrooms in them, was thinking it was going to be more then one floor...I don't know...I tell you what the pictures above are sweet...

Jeff David is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Booster Club’s SpringKickoff. Mr. David will present a comprehensive overview of new locker room construction and related modifications to Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

The date of the SpringKickoff has been changed to May 10th. The location remains the same- the downtown AMVETS. Doors open at 6:00 PM with the program beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is $10 plus the cost of a Booster Club membership ($5 and up). Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be provided.

Remember, those donating toward Corporate, Gold, Silver or Bronze Booster Club memberships will be recognized in each souvenir home game program.

About every game. The structure itself and the size of the crowd is enough to make a difference sometimes. What do you think is going to change with this horseshoe? Will our fans from both sides of the field all of a sudden sprint from between the 40's to sit in the endzone? Are more people going to show up? Is it all of a sudden going to make our student section organized? Maybe all five of the students that show up at the games will sit in the horseshoe and lead some cheers?

LOL, It will be a cool look but its not going to change anything.......

I will admit that I didn't reread the article to look for the answer, but I thought this wass all supposed to be ready this year.

I thought the same thing Obie Wan. I still wonder how are they going to shoe in the endzone that will still have the lockerroom being used by the Frosh, and then what are they going to do with the building that is used to house Obie???

Great pictures!!
I noticed something that throughout history the Massillon Tiger defenses have given up less than 2 TD's a game in most seasons is a remarkable task with today's highpowered offenses.!!!!

it would be nice if our students were really into the games, could you image the band sitting down at that end of the stadium and the students sitting right next to them getting rowdy and loud? That end of the stadium would have some serious noise and could make it hard for the oppossing team to make changes at the line. When i think of that it really reminds me of what penn states student section did to ohio state two years ago when ohio state played there. Whenever ohio state was down at that one end you could tell it was hard for the players to hear troy smith

I Think The Hamilton Game The Crowd Was A Big Factor Also!

The Idea For Stadium Seems To Be A Good One! Hopefully More Will Follow

i wish they'd keep the scoreboard though. Thats one of my fave. things at PBTS. ugh out with the old & in with the new.

even though i think this is good for the crowd and what not, i'm still slightly bummed. I feel in a goofy way like we're losing old the old Massillon Tigerness.

.

Of course they are going to keep the new scoreboard, where are you getting the idea they will not?

Also don't look for a true HORSESHOE that is not going to happen they are only going to extend the Northend zone. The goal is NOT to reduce or increase the size of the stadium.

Only thing on tap RIGHT NOW for this year is the new turf. Besides the indoor field.

I knew when someone put Carl's picture up from couple years ago, people thought this was the new design---IT'S NOT! Carl was just playing around couple years ago and created this image-----again---this is not the new design. New scoreboard is being kept and same place. My gosh, reading comphrension is a lost art!:wall:

You gotta give MT18 a little slack here. They are still a highschool student and probably are completely unaware of TigerCarl's "work" and took it at face value.

I added a disclaimer to my original post (near the top of this thread) explaining that TigerCarl's illustration of a "horseshoe" design for PBTS are not to be confused with what current changes will be made.

So, is PBTS going to be shoed? So does this means that this is going to become the showcase of high school football? And then with the new athletic building we will have the showcase for the rest of the athletic programs. Well, with all this newness going around, we need to remember our academic portion also. We need to keep our high school itself up and above par. So that the whole campus can be the showcase of all high schools.

I think people are misinterpreting the "horseshoe" thing. If I understand correctly, there isn't going to be a bowl shape to the north side, we are just going to extend the endzones so they will meet up with the north side of both the east and west stands. Basically, it will look very similar to the way the endzones used to look before the renovation.

Am I wrong?

Bingo.

I'm wondering what's going to happen to the numbering system. If you'll recall, Section 9 disappeared during the last renovation. Are sections 7 and 8 about to bite the dust now?

im sort of lost is the stadium going to be bigger of smaller and what reasoning for both?

we havent exactly had the size of crowds that demand a bigger stadium but a smaller stadium wouldnt make sense because we can still sell out some or our games the way it is now

i don't believe the capacity of the stadium is going to change at all. just some reconfiguring of the current seating to accomidate the new locker room facilities.

If we add a section (south bleachers) to the north, won't it cover over the track?

Speaking of the track, any word on if they are gonna tear the rest of the old track out now that they are replacing the turf, putting a building on it, and relocating bleachers onto it?

(P.S. for those worrying there is a new track already in use)

How about just marking the seats a little wider so some hog isn't always taking up my seat when I get there?

MTown,

I already know Paul Brown Tiger Stadium seats 18,000. With the renovations, would that raise the seating to an estimated between the 19,000-22,000 range?

obie0130

keno,

first of all, PBTS ONLY holds 18 k when additional seating is brought in. the actual capacity is somewhere in the mid 16,000's (sorry, this is off the top of my head). second, the changes to the stadium are NOT going to change the capacity at all. come on man, know your staduim. oh yeah, you're from mck. i guess we'll let this one slide.

Actually the original was a cut and paste that TigerCarl did a few years ago.

Dude, I wasn't being a smart as, as your emoticon to me implies.

I was only pointing it out so that we didn't have to listen to all the fans start arguing about how the new locker room shouldn't be on the north end and all the other stuff that could start up because of it.
