This is truly very sad. My heart goes out to all Hoover workers and their families.

There are several people here with ties to Hoover. My heart goes out to you.
The economy and housing market in our area has been bad but just wait. This will have a HUGE impact. It's truly sad.

The departing CEO of Maytag was reportedly paid $30-million. :stars:

While not a huge surprise, it's very sad.

Perhaps a Sea-World/ Wild Life park type deal could work? it is educational and we havent had anything of the sort since the sale of Sea World and SixFlags.

That's why I stay put working for veterans with a loyal organization with no reason to move, fold, or shutdown. NOONE has ever been laid off, terminated, forced outetc,.. except for lack of work ethic or stealing. I feel for all involved at Hoover and wish them the best.

If anyone knows any Hoover employees who are veterans I can help them with the transition and possible job placement.

HOOVER union workers were offered a deal back a few years ago, to insure jobs at the N Canton plant. The company wanted to instill a 2 tier wage system for the new line. The union workers rejected the jobs, and they were sent to El Paso, or somewhere.

There have been some bad decisions made down the stretch run, that solidified the demise of the Hoover Co.

I´m glad Brandi got out when she did. The people that have been there for a while, did very well on hourly rate and 401K plans.

Good luck to those seeking new employment.:ohno:
