obie0130,

I'll never understand this.... it's select people on Massillon alleged recruiting...then it's select people who have the lurid gall to accuse Massilon fans of being classless......

I wonder what horrendous, embittered, locked, loaded, immature, sardonic, heated comments select individuals are going to come up with next.

Personally speaking, I'm getting freakishly, ultra, crazed, keenly, intensely, nearly, grossly tired of the rants and raves about Massillon does this...Massillon does that...

I mean enough with it already! It always has to be a select group of unknowledgeable people  ! Maybe most people need to start looking into information more rather than jumping to assumptions let alone conclusions!

The person sharing this opinion is from Canton. I never would've guessed.

Off topic but could anybody give any details on the comments regarding girls basketball pictures in the rep?

Sometimes its difficult to interpret what a person from Canton or elsewhere around the county and state are saying.

Allow me to interpret that letter.

"I am jealous. WE are jealous."

Thank you.

Does anyone really care? I wouldn't even waste my time reading it. In the word's of our resident 49 year old Floridian, "I'd rather watch paint dry" !

Actually, as much as we would like to wring the person's neck--and those of the others who bad mouth us--we should look at this in a positive light. I do. It's when they STOP hating us and talking about us is when I'll start to be concerned. As long as they keep saying the things that they do, we know we are STILL the top dog--oops, I mean cat.

Yeah.. read the letter.. seems the dude has one way vision.. o.k. lets look at this another way.. 'Hi; my name is Devoe Torrence; and yes, I have been recruited to Ohio State. That is the real reason that I decided to attend Massillon. You see; I need true D1 competition to enhance my abilities to compete at OSU. Massillon has the smash mouth; 'in your face' D1 championship philosophy to compete at the highest level possible once I graduate." Gee; could that be what DT was thinking ?

I guess them people in Canton has nothing better to do but cut us down. I think he mad because he didn't go to Mckinley. That is crazy Massillon paper didn't say anything about the kid from St Thomas going to Mckinley.

That's because any time anyone transfers to McK, they are just coming home.

That guy's name sounds real familiar to me. I believe it's a canton south resident, whose son is the same age as my boy. His kid also plays football, I believe, and if his kid had the opportunity, he would probably take it too.

It should be considered a compliment that there is so much concern.

I bet that whiner didn't write such a letter when Tabron transferred to Mckinley last year.

So lets get this straight. Just the last 2 years, Canton gets what? 5-6 senior transfers? 3 of them all-state jrs, another starter from Massillon no less, and he's going to cry like a schoolgirl. "THIS STINKS!" boohoohoo. How embarrassing.

Amen! That letter in the Rep made me SO angry! And then, his parting shot about, of course, it's Massillon again. Well, count up all the "transfers" that have gone to McKinley since the last season. Why aren't there any letters about that? What about the star basketball player for McKinley this year and one of the top players for Perry this year being from Massillon? No letters about that, are there? I wanted to write a letter to the Rep in regard to that letter, but I thought that it really wouldn't make a difference. I say, let's welcome this young man to Massillon and make him realize that he made a good choice. Let's let him see what it's like to be in Tiger Town where we have this fantastic tradition, facilities, etc. His coming to Massillon will be a wonderful addition to the team. He has nothing to gain; he already has his college scholarship but he can help to make the upcoming season even more exciting for the Tigers and their fans.

Just a suggestion guys, but if this clown's letter is going to bother you so much, how about sending off your own letters stating exactly what you guys have all stated in this thread? And when making statements about other schools' transfers, name names as to back up what you state.

I think that is a GREAT idea. The other thing you can do is go flood their website and notice they have a new best Massillon buddy named Harper. Boy they sure are embracing HIM over there these days.

I have another suggestion. If anyone has any old newspaper or program articles about McK's OHSAA mandated "hiatus" from football in 1962, please e mail it to me or get in touch with me at the TigersLair. (Link on front page of mp.com) I would like to try my hand at an enlightening and new piece of internet football literature. Thanks.

Don't forget to remind the Mutts about all of THEIR "8th-grade hold-backs."

Start with Roch Hontas... there's a kid that needed help.... Hahaha.

giant lugey, if my memory serves me correctly, Tabron's home residence is in Plain Township school district(no open enrollment for Canton City Schools, but exceptions allowed for athletes); just like Gary Grant. But then again, as they always say: "they're just coming home." :blah:

Just because someone can talk to somebody without acting like a fourth grader, Carly doesn't mean somebody has jumped ship. If they disagree I don't call them Einstein, Trailer Trash, Class dismised, Crack addict. It is people like you that make the great city of Massillon look bad.

We tiger fans, players, and lonetime supporters better get ready for ALOT of crying and whinning about transfers. Once the new facility is opened top players in Stark County and surrounding areas will be coming to Massillon! HS football is business for kids these days and they will take any edge over other athletes competing for scholarships and Massillon has always taken players to the next level--- that's most players ultimate goal anyway after the championship!!! I know I was playing for the team and myself because without that scholly I was not going to college---and I worked my butt off to get it. As long as EVERY PLAYER in a tiger uniform is playing for "W's" and free rides we will continue to win alot of games!

I didn't have a beef with Tabron and co. McKinley had last year. May the best teams win.

It doesn't matter anyway-- I have said years ago that Massillon and McKinley will continue and always have transfers because its the best football has to offer in OHIO and McK's bball team as well!!! Both teams are benefiting from quality student/athletes who want to play for a proven winners and offer free tickets to school.

Best of luck to CantonSouth, McKinley(not really), and the TIGERS in 2007!!

Also read my post in McKinley Transfer thread in the General Forum where I said the same stuff months ago. I respect McKinley's program and everyone should stop crying and just play football!!!

Obiefan already made that clear two days ago. It was done by the rules. What's done is done. Go Tigers!
