Was wondering this is just rumors but mentor is saying that the Mentor game has been switched from the fifth game (09/21/07) moved to the ninth game on the (10/19/07) can anybody confirm this rumor???

I asked the question over there, without a response. What would Massillon get out of such a change? Nothing (unless Mentor also agreed to play in PBTS in 2008. And even that premise would not justify putting them in week #9 before McKinley).

I's rather keep Mentor in week 5 and find anyone we can for week 9. Not really sure why the fascination with picking up Garfield. Mentor will be loaded the next two years, plus they're starting to get some of the Lake Catholic kids coming back (Greenwood, 1st team all-state as a sophmore, RB/DB) and getting some transfers from other schools now that they have the team on the rise...I know Garfield is an old rival and all, but I's rather see Garfield change their schedule around or get someone else than play a team like Mentor before the McKinley game. Remember Mentor is returning 74 players this year so I would guess that will be close to the number the next few years... Just a thought

We are not that stupid to schedule WGH and Mentor before McKinley. The last time someone did such a stupid scheduling error was in 1987 when they scheduled ST. Joe's, Middletown, and McKinley back to back to back---not smart when you need to healthy in weeks 11 and so on!!

We can play nine tough games but we always need a tune up game week 9!
The biggest rialry in America and our kids are looking forward and does not need Mentor looking at us in week 9 in 07 or 08!

Coach Shepis made some tough scheduling decisions but our 2007 schedule is already set. Shepis and Moronto both had scheduling issues because they tried to schedule the best every week and we never had easy games!--I personally like it!
Part of this scheduling problem in this decade is that teams do not want to play us after week 6 or league play prevents the matchups! It is getting tough to find games unless you play all top 10-15 teams every week.

I really didn't care how many tough games we scheduled because I brought my "A" game every game and if our players are dedicated and want the trophy they wont care who suits up on Friday or Saturday--- but will dominate them anyway!!
