Our little black and brn/red with silver Yorkie wondered off Saturday night and we have not seen him since. He is 10 years old with tall legs for a Yorkie and shorter hair and has one bent ear. Is usually very friendly with people, but is probably scared to death and kind of delicate.
We live on the NorthEast side of Massillon and would appreciate it if anyone has heard of anyone finding a dog, or taking one in, or taking him to a shelter or something .........anything........PLEASE contact me through MP messaging. My phone number will be in the lost ads in the paper but not until tomorrow.
We miss him terribly and are just sick worrying about him. So just in case any readers just might happen to know anything it would mean so much. And thanks for reading.

Kam...try calling the dog warden down in Massillon. When I lived in Massillon, our little dog got out of the fence and I called the dog warden, and she looked for her, and ended up finding her.
It only took her 1 day to do it, as well. She even dropped the dog off at the Massillon police station so we didn't have to go all the way out to the Humane Society on Rt. 62.
I don't have her number, but if you call the non-emergency number for the police or the Humane Society, they can give you the number.

Kamd -- So sorry. It breaks my heart too just hearing about this.http://www.dachsie.org/vbb/images/smilies/kfrown.gif
Will be hoping and praying for his return home. And, I’m sure we are all going to be on the lookout for him.

Thanks so much for the kind wishes. That little dog is just like one of my kids to me and was by my side 24/7 except when he was playing with one of the kids or eating. I can't even close my eyes without seeing his little face:sad:
I have talked to Vicky, the humane society, the paper, and going out to hang up posters here in a minute. I guess you don't really realize how attatched you are to a pet until they aren't there all of a sudden.

Dear Kam50,
Prior to this writing, I have merely viewed the posts, however your story saddened me due to the fact that I, too, am an animal lover. Knowing people who have lost their pets in the past, I suggest you might also consider contacting Massillon Cable as they often list public service announcements on their Channel 9. I know people who have found their animals via this method. Also, you might check dog park near Smith School as I have seen some dogs down there without masters.
Could you please note if the dog was wearing a collar and, if so, what color is it? Also, is his name Dodger as was previously posted in a message? I am going to drive around my neighborhood right now and check out a few places. Since I am retired, I have time to scour some areas and am more than willing to help in any way possible.

Gosh, what a kind person to take time out of their day and go looking for a pet that belongs to someone they don't even know. What a kind act of friendship, casey. I wish more people, myself included were even remotely as nice and kind as you. WOW, this brightened my day.

Bless you,Yes his name is DODGER. Unforntunaley, I gave him a bath just a few days ago and had not put his collar back on. Let that be a lesson to everyone.
Another MPer was kind enough to offer his assistance in getting it posted on MCTV. My son just came home from school and said one of his friends saw our dog yesterday on historic 4th st and tried to catch him but he ran away. Oh how I wish he would have came over and told us, but he probably figured Dodger would just go backhome.
So I guess it is better to try and call him rather than chase him because he is probably scared since he has never been lost before.

Well, the little son-of-a-gun is running around historic 4th St. teasing everyone. It's only a matter of time until someone tracks the little guy down. Good luck. If I were there, I'd be out there right now helping you.

Best of luck KamD with your dog. Unfortunately, my 17 month old puppy passed away Saturday evening. The hole they leave in your heart is devastating.
At least you know that he is still runnin' the hood. Someone will corral the little bugger !!

My wolf passed away in July and I certainly can relate to closing your eyes and seeing their face. Needless to say, I still have not adjusted to losing him. But Kam in your case the little guy appears to be somewhere in the area and just a matter of time I hope before you guys are reunited. Best of luck!!

I am very happy to say that I have good news and that we have Dodger back home where he belongs:sunny:
Aprox. 2 hours after he went missing, a young couple coming out of the Great Escapes theatre came upon him because he was just standing by one of the exit doors barking. He obviously must have been disoriented and thought the door was our own because that is what he does when he wants in from the back yard. They approached him and sure enough he went with them. They took him to the vet to have him checked out because they were going to just keep him and they have another dog at home. In a way, it was good they took him because here he had an ear infection that I had no idea of, but on the other hand, our doggy was about to have a new home.
They had went out and bought him a new collar, leash, dish, and hair comb! And were out taking him and their other dog for a walk clear up by the gas station at Traphagen and Wales when one of my daughter's friends who just happened to be at our house last week and had been petting Dodger saw them. He told them that he had a friend who had a dog that looked exactly like that, one ear up/one down. And they replied that they had found him. So we got the phone call as we were coming home from 3 hours of hanging posters all over town! lol
I was never so happy for a phone call in my life! Again, I hope someone can benefit from my mistake of not putting his tags back on immediately after his bath. That's the first thing we did when we got him back home!
And I want to thank those of you who showed concern and kindness here on the forums as well as the personal messages that I received. It means a lot to see that there are plenty of good people out there and care about other's dilemmas:thanx: You wouldn't believe the dozens of kind and helpful people we ran across the last couple of days scouring the neighborhoods, God is Good!

Kam,
Glad to hear you got Dodger back! Not that it matters now, but I read your posts and this thread yesterday just before dark after being away from home all day. I felt so bad for you and figuring since I know that neighborhood pretty well, (I grew up at the corner of 3rd and Harvard NE) just after dark, I thought I'd go on a little search. Well anyways, I checked a big square area from 2nd St NE to 8th St NE, from Lincolnway to Cherry and all of the alleys in between.....Needless to say, I didn't find your dog, but the funny part was, I got stopped and pulled over by the police for questioning because they got two calls of a suspicious man in a red pickup truck driving through the neighborhoods slowly, looking between houses. Luckily, I knew the two officers who pulled me over and I explained what I was doing and showed them your posters at 4th and North and at 4th and Chestnut I think. They let me continue and said that they would be on the lookout too.

Oh my gosh, I am sorry that happened to you but it is soooooo freaking funny LOL!!! But thank you so very much for being concerned enough to do that for us:hug: I owe so many people extra prayers, because God clearly answered ours.
One of those nights my son and I were driving through St. Mary's cemetery with flashlights and soon after we left we saw 2 cruisers driving through. So someone must have called them on us also. I guess it's a good thing to see that people in our neighborhood are on the alert for strangers though!
Now we gotta get out there and take down all those dang posters!

I'm so glad he's back!! I did my own walk last night from down Lake St to 1st NE and up Commonwealth to Amherst.
Speaking of the police being called, once my son the Mastermind Movie Director was doing one of his films, and one scene involved a friend of his getting doused with tomato juice. Well, the friend decided afterwards it would be funny to run through the neighborhood screaming (covered with red tomato juice). Needless to say, the neighbors were somewhat alarmed... Meanwhile, I was sick inside with the flu at the time and didn't even know what was going on until the police show up in my driveway - with the stupid juice-covered kid cowering and whimpering in the back of the cruiser, and my son trying to explain how they were just filming a movie (sigh).
It was funny, though, seeing the police officer struggling mightily to keep a straight face while chewing everybody out before letting the kids go.

I am sooooo happy you found Dodger. It’s been on my mind all last night and this morning.
It is so terrifying to lose your dog. And it is good to know that people care.
When I was a child our dog “wandered” away. We looked everywhere we could think of. My mom had it put on WTIG and not long after someone found him “wandering” around Harvey school. We were so thankful for his return. -- after all he was family.
Give Dodger a hug for me -- I feel like I’ve come to know him.
Take care and enjoy your doggie! (If he could only talk -- I bet he could tell you a great story!) http://www.dachsie.org/vbb/images/smilies/puppy.gif

Dear Kamd50,
This was a great ending to the story. Thanks for posting on this forum as it is a powerful one with MANY kind, concerned people. That was a wise decision, Kam. This also gave me the courage to post for the first time.
Also, thank you so much, CarlE, for the generous comments that you made. You obviously are a special person as you devote so much time to helping young people which is evident by your avatar and posts. Have a nice birthday.

VERY glad Rodger Dodger made it back safe and sound. Isn't that the way it happens? Pure luck that your daughter's friend just happened to see your dog with the people who just HAPPENED to be walking it. Had I been at my parent's house I would be the hero today because I would have been walking (staggering) around there and would have seen him!! Anyway, glad he is back home where he belongs.
And don't worry about fyrewood and the police. Believe me, I wish I had a dollar for everytime authorities spotted THAT suspicious man in the red truck!! LOL

So glad you found your dog. I know this has been a horrible experience for you.
Since my dogs have long hair a collar wears the hair off. We only use the collars for walks and dog school. My dogs are all tatooed inside their back leg for identafication. You can also get them microchipped, but some agencies that take in dogs don't have a scanner and some that do won't bother to scan for the chip.
I love HAPPY endings!

Kam- I'm happy to hear that Dodger is back home safe and sound. I was wondering if he would make it back OK.
There are so many unscrupulous people in the world, and I was worried that because Dodger is a Yorkie, which is an expensive breed of dog- that someone may have tried to keep him or sell him. I have a Chinese Crested who got lost a few years ago, and the woman that found her wanted a cash reward before she'd give her back to me. (I ended up giving her $100.00 just because I was worried that she'd sell her or something.)
In any case, I am so happy to learn that your beloved Dodger is OK and back home with your family. I'm sure you are feeling VERY relieved right now!

Hahaha! You are a funny one. Once again, I can't say thank you enough to so many of you! You all are wonderful!!! You all deserve a self-inflicted pat on the back and the right to feel good about yourselves for brightening someone else's otherwise dreadful situation, by your actions or your kind words and thoughts. As I told someone, this has truely served to be a lesson for our family in the way of restoring our faith in mankind, so to speak. It was especially a wonderful thing for my kids to get to witness as there is always so much negative stuff going around.
Casey, I am glad to have had the opportunity to speak with you as well as see you making another post. Now don't be a stranger to posting here on Massillon Proud, us women posters are in the minority around here you know:wink: And, yes, I guess CarlE does have his "moments" ! LOL ! j/p CarlE!

I would have driven to the woman's house, with a police escort and kicked the living hell out of her if she would have demanded a cash reward for MY pet. That is ridiculous.
