Here is part of the article:
The late Chuck Mather has departed, but his presence was still felt at the first Touchdown Club meeting of the season on Tuesday afternoon at the Amvets.
The former Tiger coach passed away on May 29 in Chicago. His memory was recognized at the beginning of the meeting by a brief video tribute, which featured a variety of clips and interviews with the legendary coach.
“He was a special person,” Massillon coach Tom Stacy said. “I’m glad we were able to pay tribute to him. He called me several times during the season; several times during the offseason, and not only was he a special football coach, but he was a special person. We became pretty close. Not necessarily personally, face-to-face, but on the phone.”
