Jamal Lewis has signed a one year deal with the Cleveland Browns

what do you think of the browns signing him? Do you think that means they won't be going after Adrian Peterson in the draft? Do you see Lewis being your short yardage back and Adrian Peterson every other down?

I just saw this also. Im not sure if i like it. All the prison and cocaine issues really bother me. They better get thomas now! I really like frye and dont think Quinn is the answer.

It's a solid low risk signing. It's only for one year. He's a skilled player and wants to prove he can still play. If he flops or has off field problems the Browns aren't saddled with a long term deal.

I still expect the Browns to take Peterson (it looks like the Lions are really interested in Thomas). It will allow him time to fully learn the Browns offense without the pressure of being the featured back right away. Lewis also torched the Browns. Removing him from the Ravens is a good thing. Look for Droughns to be cut soon because I doubt he holds much trade value.

I'm happier about this signing because he was taken away from the Ravens....not so much that he's coming to the Browns. I think his best days are behind him. He has a physical running style that has taken his toll. NFL Live was talking about him a few weeks ago and said that his body is definitely breaking down but he can still be an effective back. I'm so-so on this signing. If we do not take Peterson because of this, then I am totally against it. I see us moving into position to either take Quinn with the 3rd pick, or make people THINK we are taking Quinn so we can trade down on draft day.

if signing lewis means that the browns won't take AP, then i hope they trade their pick. thomas will be gone, and i don't think quinn would be a good pick for the browns. hopefully someone will be willing to trade up for johnson.

i just read the lewis is only 27. that floored me. for some reason i kept thinking he was in his early 30s.

i'm a little upset that the falcons signed horn. that means there's no way they'll make that sweet trade proposal involving schaub in order to get johnson.

if the browns want a big, powerful back, then why not just take bush in the 2nd round? he'd be a steal.

MTown,

This is going to be interesting...Jamal Lewis with the Browns. I wonder how he'll do against the Ravens once he faces them.

A side note: Lewis was 7-8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers as a Ravens running back.

I hope his record is above .500 at the end of the 2007 season.
