I would sift through the internet, pulling up years of websites that referred to "win one on the field" and I would print them all out.

Then I would glue and plaster it all together in the shape of a baseball bat and I would go around and find out where all those people lived and I would beat them with my new bat. And as they are laying on the ground and wimpering like little girls, I will stand over them and taunt them.

I would take my copy of the Fishwrap, er, I mean the Suppository, wait...I mean The Repository declaring Massillon "State Champs" and staple it to Todd Porter's forehead! (That's not being to mean is it?). Too bad we couldn't have went to Div.2 for a year or two, then we'd definitely have our state title!

DAWGH8R,

I will never forget that magical evening of 2005! Seeing Massillon fans and their hearts and souls forcefully entrenched in orange and black...that was a sight for this writer to see. Massillon as you know hit their peak in the third week of the playoffs and it carried them to their first state title game since 1982! 3/4 of Fawcett Stadium was all Massillon that night! Even though they lost to #1 Cincinnati St. Xavier 24-17, Massillon provided me memories as a writer I will never forget and I alluded to that in a 2005 letter to Sound Off On Sports in The Repository.

Granted, my high school allegiance and roots will always lie with my alma mater (you know who). But if I had to give up something for a Massillon Tigers Division I state playoff title...I'd give up talking about DENNIS MILLER. Not the easiest of things but hey, I had to make a sacrifice.........

3/4 ? I dont remember it being like that. I do remember them being louder. Also, The Tigers hit their peak with 5 minutes to go in the St. Eds game. Im still waiting for you to hit your peak.

ChronicTiger,

Massillon had fans in both end zones and in the north stands. Cincinnati St. Xavier had fans only in the south stands.

17,000 of the 23,000 fans at the game were all from Massillon!

Far as peaks? You know Massillon hit their peak with an emotional playoff win over Canton McKinley, that broke a two-game losing streak at the Akron Rubber Bowl dating back to the 2001 Division I state semifinal.

Massillon was playing at their peak against Lakewood St. Edward.

maybe so but those mutts have 3 titles all won on the field, otherwise why was this thread even started and why would people be willing to give up anything if the 22 we have don`t mean anything. trust me whoever started the thread meant "on the field" otherwise it`s wasted space.

I would say what I really think but Seeker would hammer me.

Our titles were won under the only system available at that time. Our many poundings of McKinley were done on the field. So you seem to think we could have won our 22 titles without victories "ON THE FIELD" as you put it?

how bout i just walk in the alibi and say it, i live in the present . you still live in the 40`s and 50`s. i have no affiliation for mck whatsoever. i root against mck. remember it`s going on 37 yrs and counting and with a shrinking population 1970`s video is about as close as you`ll come. i root for massillon but the ramblin die-hards who can`t face reality and act like it`s 1940 are the ones who are clueless. DIV2 but i already won this arguement long ago and plenty of this century thinkers on here agree with me.
as for the tigerslair ill come over anytime and chat, u think insults and comments from prehistoric dinosaurs who still think massillon now is as good as massillon then. i`ll rip them to shreds just by facts and final scores against st ignatius, moeller and the rest of the key loses massillon`s had. just beating the weakest st iggy team ever in 2005 by a late quarterback scramble just proves my point. year in and year massillon cannot compete. 2006 again proves my point.

hey mr. empty pants how can you say we can't compete {year in and year out massillon cannot compete. 2006 again proves my point.} did we not beat a good st. eds team or beat an undefeated mckinley team 2 years in a row. In 2005 iggy still made the playoffs last year and look at there schedule they play some tough teams. no they were not the powerhouse iggy teams but still a tough team and we won ON THERE FIELD!! do you think mckinley would fair better against iggy with there team and they have more kids. I don't think mckinley would have won against iggy this year, maybe last year. so 1 and 1 the last two years the same record as massillon against iggy. mckinley has the luck of playing against the fed teams who massillon OWNS!!! mckinley would be like massillon if they played are schedule. how many teams in are region would have alot of success against iggy or moeller not many and they are still going to be in div 1. you mean to tell me we can't compete when we beat a very good arizona team who won the state title. gee we have trouble beating two teams we don't see until LATE in the playoffs. did we not beat a loaded perry team in 2002 or a good hoover team in 2001. we also beat the crap out of perry this year and they had a good team. we beat an undefeated mckinley team this year giving up 7 points. In 02 we lost to warren twice because of special teams not because we can't hang or compete. again in 05 a special teams mistake cost us some points not because we need to go div 2. oh and I agree with tigerlily about giving up talking about wait until next year.

you make a few valid points but overall i`m correct about the div2 issue. who cares about getting through a weak region2 and some years massillon can`t even do that. if you watched the game against st x which i`m sure you did massillon played their hearts out. they had a special team that year with all the parts to contend but if you notice why massillon lost "IT WAS BECAUSE OF SHEARS NUMBERS BY ST.X" if you noticed st.x on their sidelines, did you see how many bodies they rotated in and out and how often? massillon played a great game and were absolutly gassed by mid 4th quarter. now that was special in 2005. now compare that to an regular massillon team on any odinary year. they would`ve been hammered by 20 or so as what happened against good st. iggy teams in the past. look up the scores. look at this past year and notice how gassed gamble and the other 2-way players were in crunch time in games against great teams. sure we beat mckinley, that`s a rivalry, sometimes the strongest team loses in that game, think about all those 9-0 massillon teams who were favored and lost, or vice versa like this past year. what my main point is that: the shrinking population in massillon is really looming hard now and it`s gonna get worse. the trend started years ago with the creation of perry, tuslaw, fairless etc. then the steel mills closed. now it`s kinda like a ghost town for anyone wanting to start out a family and canton is not far behind. mckinley could end up the same way but in their defense they could close timken and get their numbers back up.look at it in this perspective: say you own a small factory that makes widgets but you only have 50 employees and can onnly run 1 shift but the guy down the street owns the same kind of buisness but he has 200 employees and can run 3 shifts 24 hours a day. now imagine the guy with 50 workers trying to tell his his employees they need to work 16 hour days in order to keep up with the guy down the street. "EVENTUALLY THEY`LL GET TIRED AND WORN DOWN" it is really a simple concept if you take time to really think about it.

OB,

Why oh why do you guys subject yourself to the ignorance that abounds at Yappi and McK dot com ?????

Gluttons for punishment !!I basically do not look at them much any more, just a little bit. There are MANY Massillon posters who post on those two sites, when you consider them together. McK.com is almost dead right now. Not much action at all.

I encourage anyone here to pay a visit to cantonmckinley.com, read their forums, especially their "War of 1892" or whatever the heck it is, and see the extremely biased nature of their forums. They, and the above referenced poster is included in that, talk out of two sides of their mouths where Massillon is concerned. They will treat you with respect...yeah, sure...NOT.

Ok its tell the truth time. Please let me know when and where I have disrespected anyone. And your "war of 1892" mocking of the rivalry? Come on, you dont even know when the first game was played? Go play at the Tiger Liars site or something.

I dont recall talking to you at all. Maybe you should start at the beginning instead of jumping in at the middle. My last post was merely a mocking of the lair as a mocking was made in reference to a previous post from him. I'm truly still waiting on a response from ORANGEBLOOD. Do you always come to his rescue when he bites off more than he can chew? I got called out by him on a disrespect manner on which I give people on yappi and McK.com. never been on yappi and still looking for the proof he can give from McK.com.

Orangeblood is not getting into a wild argument on Obiefan's site. He knows better. Now, if the guy wants to argue, another site is available, lol...:TIG2:
