They started having alcohol at the Yankee Peddler Festival this past year as well. We took the kids to it (Yankee Peddler itself, not the place with the alcohol) last summer and it was kind of weird.....it was like "Ye Olde Beer Garden and Wine Tasting".

I thought it kind of didn't fit in with the rest of the exhibits and everything, since the whole theme of Yankee Peddler is to showcase things from the days of the early settlers, but hey, if the early settlers listened to jazz trios and sipped chardonnay in large tented venues, then I guess it was pretty true to life in the old days..... :laughing:

Alcohol sales are big money. And the organizers realize this.

This is true. ltft. It's kind of like how they have beer available at Chuck E. Cheese's. It's out of place there, but it makes them a lot of money.

At least it should make the fair more fun for a lot of people....go see the 4-H livestock exhibits, ride a ferris wheel, have an elephant ear.....get PLASTERED! Wheeee! :laughing:

Alcohol is a BAD thing, especially when the people drinking need to DRIVE home !!! I've seen many a family get screwed up over drunk driving !!:doh:

I totally agree. That's why I stopped drinking over a year ago. Too problematic, and you can't get back home if you go out to do it! :laughing:

I stopped 21 years ago. Too many family/friends died in the 80's due to alcohol. I did drink ONE time at my bachelor party 10 years ago, but was under the care of my close friends !! :wink:
