I heard recently that former WHS Principal Cliff Wilson passed away last Sunday. I went to school with his daughter, Kendra and nephew, Dave.
Clifford R. Wilson
Clifford R. Wilson, age 73, of Kimbolton, OH, formerly of Massillon passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 in Massillon Community Hospital. Born May 16, 1933 in Tuscarawas Co. to the late, Alta (Kedigh) and Clifford B. Wilson. A 1951 graduate of Newcomerstown High School, received a Bachelor Degree from Ohio State University in 1958, Master of Education and Administration from Xavier University. An Army Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict, a helicopter pilot and was stationed in Germany and France. Presently employed at Nelson Industrial Supply of Massillon, retired as an Assistant Superintendent of Massillon City Schools, formerly a principal for Washington High School for 20 years, principal, teacher and coach at Newcomerstown High School, principal at Mt. Vernon and assistant principal at North College Hill, Cincinnati. Preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Mack Wilson. Survived by his wife, M. Patricia (Mickel) Wilson whom he married July 8, 1977; four children, Susan J. Wilson (Phil) of Grove City, Clifford Kent Wilson (Tana) of Massillon, Kendra L. Long (Roger) of Newcomerstown, Alta Patricia “Tricia” Miller (Jeremy) of Sugarcreek; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosella Martin (Harold) of Kimbolton, Laura Jean Morris of Cedartown, GA, Evelyn Bell of Kimbolton; two brothers, Jack M. Wilson (Robin) of Houston, TX, Warren Wilson (Carole) of Newcomerstown. Services will be Thursday at Addy Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Cebula officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Military Services will be conducted by Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard. Burial in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Memorials may be made to Newcomerstown High School, 659 Beaver St., Newcomerstown, OH 43832 or Massillon Washington High School, 1 Paul E.
