mrs. superbran and i are currently in the market for a new SUV. we're looking at mid-sized SUVs b/c we don't want anything that's huge. so far we've narrowed it down to the following:
acura mdx
landrover l3
lexus gx
porche cayenne
toyota 4 runner
honda pilot (we may wait to see the new design)
anyone have any of these vehicles. any comments are appreciated.

Landrover is solid! You'll never have any problems with snow. That sucker can drive through anything.
The 4runner is a nice ride too.
Considering what's on your list you can't really make a bad choice.

i was impressed with the landrover. it really can go through anything and has a lot of storage capacity (about 90 cubic feet).
i think our first choice right now is the acura. i was just at the cincy car show and the mdx was pretty nice.
i liked the 4 runner, but by the time you add everything onto it that we want (i.e., navi, leather), then it's about the same price as the mdx.

i'll have to check them out. i saw the acadia at the car show, but didn't get a chance to check it out.

one thing that is key is storage space. it has to be able to fit my dog. he's 180 lbs. right now, but only 15 months old. he'll be over 220 when he's full grown.

I think the Lexus RX350/400h is about the same size as the MDX or the Cayenne, although with the GX you do get more space and 2 more cylinders than the RX, the MDX, or the Cayenne. If you ever plan on towing anything, go with the GX.
I looked into the RX330/350 last year...really nice ride. But as someone said, you can't go wrong with anything on your list. Good luck, and have fun!

The Canyonaro is my choice for a SUV. Here is a short promo on this great SUV.

it's a very good choice. the pilot is being redesigned this year, so we're going to wait until it's unveiled. hopefully it'll be nice.
i agree, though, that a honda will run forever. acura is owned by honda, so the mdx is pretty solid as well.
out of all the mid-sized suvs that we looked at, the pilot seemed to have the most space overall (passenger and cargo).

If I remember correctly the Acura got solid ratings. I don't know about the others. They're all out of my price range so I didn't follow too closely.

Super Bran,
I would try Epinions.com, as the reviews there are from actual consumers who have owned or own the vehicle you are considering purchasing.
I've used Epinions.com before buying many different products, including my current SUV, and and I've found that the reviews are usually pretty accurate.
