NFL network couldn't have any worse of a cast. Those guys are horrible. As for Irvin, who wants to hire someone with a background like his ??

With his record, he couldn't land a job where I work !!

Someone will pick him up. The networks love the colorful speaking (and dressing) former players. He says he will have the most unique suit at the Pro Football H.O.F. induction ceremony. I can only imagine what it will look like.

Michael Irvin was fired because, while talking to ESPN Radio's Dan Patrick on Patrick's show, he said thatDallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo's stellar play might be attributable, not to talent and hard work, but to black heritage. Irvin suggested there might have been "some brother down in that line somewhere." Irvin may have been joking, but Patrick apparently didn't think so and asked Irvin if black heritage was mandatory for athletic prowess. "That's not the only way, but it's certainly one way," Irvin replied. He then stated, "If great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandma pulled one of them studs up out of the barn ... `Come on in here for a second,' you know ... "

Joking or not, in this day and age of PC lunacy, it's no surprise that he was fired.

Get ready to see Irvin at the Hall of Fame induction! I'm planning on it! You couldn't stop Irvin especially when the game was on the line and he was at his toughest.

That is why he is "The Playmaker." Part of three world championships for Jessica Simpson's hometown team......

Massillon Catholic, CarlE, SuperBran, and Chronic Tiger,

Michael Jerome Irvin has glamorous jewelry in the form of THREE SUPER BOWL championships (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX) and he has the rings to show for it too!

In addition to that FYI Massillon Catholic...Irvin's wife (Sandy) is black and is the mother of Michael's five loving children!

Massillon Catholic,

You said that he had good looking white women and I felt compelled to tell you as such.

Irvin should be respected for what he did and what he had to go through to be a Hall of Famer. It's not easy coming up from Ft. Lauderdale as he was faced with a lot of adversity. But he prevailed!

Massillon Catholic,

Irvin did not turn on his friend...he was going to get him help for his addiction! If you knew someone who had a problem, you would get them help like Irvin did, would you not?

Irvin came from a household of 16 brothers and sisters. He fought his way to the top of his profession and that's all there is. Forget what happened in the past!

of course! irvin helped his friend get off drugs by taking all of the drugs himself. pretty soon you'll see the "michael irvin drug and alcohol rehabilitation center" pop up. you go in, irvin takes all of your drugs for a month, and then you're clean. it works out for both parties.

I feel that Michael Irvin has owned up to his crazy lifestyle and is trying to change that about his life. I think he can help kids/athletes by telling his story and mentoring them to make the right decisions in life. Oh--- he was one of the best WR ever in football even if people do not like him or his former lifestyle!

There must have been something for ESPN to still have fired him. I do agree that he was one of the best ever at his position.

Let's see....

He's had repeated problems with drugs....and police......and hookers.

He's made public racist statements.

He's admitted to repeated adulterous affairs.

He repeatedly pouted, ripped on coaches and threw his teammates under the bus. (And as an announcer he hypocritically ripped others who did the same thing).

He was recently ranked at #22 in the "Top 50 Sports Jerks of All Time."
http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/10236485

Keno, no one is saying he wasn't a good player. But your desire to constantly defend the guy is troubling.

You know...Irvin was one of the best to play the game. At least his sons are getting life lessons on how to avoid the troubles he endured.

Irvin was always one of my favorite players EXCEPT on January 28, 1996...
