I'm really going to miss Bill Caples in the booth this year. Bill IS the voice of the tigers!!! Bill is definitely a class act!
I don't know if anyone else listened to 990 the other day that coach Stacy and the AZ coach were on but the shows host, which will remain nameless, had no idea that Quinten Nicholson (excuse the spelling) was no longer with the team. I don't know the host other then listening to the station on my way to work every morning, but I think that it's pretty sad that he is going to be a part of the broadcast team and he had no idea that Nicholson was no longer with tthe eam.
Don't get me wrong, he does a good job on his show but he isn't from Massillon, it's not in his blood like it is in Bill's. Bill is going to be sorely missed! Bill has probably forgotten more then all of us put together can remember.
I'm glad that the press box was named after Bill, long overdue if you ask me. Bill will ALWAYS be the voice of the Tigers to me! I'm sorry that he will no longer be in HIS press box. :tig:

In defense of the nameless host, the BC's online roster (http://www.massillontigers.com/teamroster.htm) still lists Nicholson as a team member.

....who lives in Akron and moved the station out of it's (visible) downtown location. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

I will say listening to Bill on the radio does drive me nuts. Trying to find out downs, yardage and even the score is sometimes an adventure. But he is a true Tiger fan and has dedicated countless hours to the program. I'm not saying to get rid of him altogether. Perhaps a support role would be best.

Sadly, I only heard Bill Caples call one game...back in 2000 when Massillon locked horns with a peak Cleveland St. Ignatius team, which ended in a Wildcats 36-21 win.
Who is going to be or currently, who is the lead announcer for the Tigers for radio broadcasts?

I understand what you are saying about Bill but he isn't a young chicken anymore and some of his broadcasts do remind me of Herb Score trying to call an Indians game in his later years.....anyone who remembers that knows what I mean.
I don't like the idea that he is being pretty much pushed out and the "shall remain nameless" is part of the broadcast team. The funny thing is they are running radio spots now talking about doing the games and the guy doing it even say's in first person english that the nameless one will be doing broadcast but he can't even do the commercial himself even though the announcer says it it him, that is pathetic.
I personally don't have anything against him but there are times that I have to just shake my head at some of the things that he says and the QUESTIONS that he asks online. Personally, think he needs to step up his act and at least attend all of the football and basketball games and do his homework.
990 isn't to bad of a station as long as your on this side of Whipple....they always call themselves the "Stark County Leader in Sports" but in reality only about a third if that, of the county can pick them up.

I hope Bill accepts as well as other guest commentators...one you might consider if he is available and willing is Joe Demery he used to do a great job when he was working for WHBC.

I will surely miss Bill! He is a true Tiger! Besides bleeding Orange & Black, he would do anything to help a friend! Sadly, we accept the inevitable - however - with change comes opportunity. Go Tigers!:thanx: Bill we Love you bunches!

They aren't the lowest rated station in Stark County for nothing.

C'mon Butler, let's be fair. Sometimes they're in a tie for the bottom.
