The Weather Channel has said that there will continue to be blizzard conditions for Stark and Summit counties into tomorrow morning, and we are expected to get 8-12 MORE inches of snow this evening.

Tomorrow, we can expect 3-6 inches as well. Officials from both counties have said there should be no traveling in Stark or Summit Counties this evening.

This is almost starting to look like the blizzards we had in 1977 or '78, whichever year it was.

Yup.

'78 was worse, and compounded by a W.Va. coal-miners strike.

Hooo-boy, I'm glad I'm in IDAHO !!!!

Like a dummy I went to work today, I was in Mentor at about 1pm, left at 5:30...

I just got home. It is 8:30pm

the fastest I went at any time was 25, and that was on 77 just north of Canton.

Duh- they said 77 was a parking lot for hours because of a tractor trailer went haywire before the airport and had traffic sitting pretty for a while.
No fun there.

Stay warm ya'll. I have to say it.... I'm glad I'm not there with ya... I am taking the family this weekend up to Flagstaff and do a little sled riding. They have lot's of snow up there. Will play for the day and head back to the valley where it's warm and dry.

FYI, I am a young guy... some are not so much. If anyone on here in the Massillon area needs their driveway/sidewalks cleared(dawgh8r is not eligible) and isn't able to do it themselves, or can but probably shouldn't... PM me and I will be happy to swing by when available tomorrow and clear it for you.

I thought I maybe should have worded my post differently, but then that wouldn't have been as much fun. :drinkem:

As far as the snow, I think it's beautiful outside tonight! We took some pictures before it got dark out. I just think it's so peaceful and quiet and magical looking when we get big snowfalls like this one. Now if we could only get out of the driveway, everything would be perfect!

Once again, the morning commute from Massillon to Akron via RT21 and I76 was non-eventful. About ten minutes longer than normal at about 45mph.

The maniacs (with the SUV's and pickups) were not on the roads yet. Yea. It always amazes me that all the years that I have been making this trip; the worst road conditions (streets that are not plowed) are usually the last mile of the trip near the hospital. :scratchchin:

I don't worry about the road itself when I drive other than the ice, but I worry about the idiots who think that they can drive 55 because they are driving SUV's or a truck. NEWS FLASH**** Stopping is the problem idiots- that means if you're driving a Hugo or a Mack truck- if you can't stop you'r evehicle you're gonna cause an accident.
I am just staying home, until tomorrow morning until I have to drive to Canton to Aultman. (at 5 in the morning) So most of the idiots will be home still sleeping...

I type this from my office- OSU Columbus cancelled classes while I was on the way in! The drive on I-70 wasn't bad at all, but it was fairly deserted!

Pretty rare occurence for OSU to close up.

We have a coating of ice on everything here. It's currently 5:11 AM (I'm up with Mr. Still-Not-Sleeping-Through-The-Night...lol) and the freezing rain is coming down pretty steadily.

Going to church in a few hours should be quite an adventure! Yikes!

Too bad yours shoots blanks TC. You & Nancy could have sold your babies to athletic programs. I waited for years for you guys to pop out some 6'10 305 pound monsters, but I guess that would have left a couple of little Asian kids without a good home. God works in strange ways sometimes, and I'm glad he found you & Nancy !! I'm sure you guys wouldn't have it any other way !!!:ers:
