I could not believe at how low fans can stoop to nowadays. I've seen it all. There are days I just want to put a gun to my head when I see how far fans can go once in a while.
Holy cow.

President Skroob...
Here are my top 5 list of stupid fan/stupid fans:
5. Fans who cheer an athlete when they get hurt. I've seen this act before from fans.
4. Fans who assume the know-it-all demeanor. Fans think they know everything but the answers lie within the players and coaches, front office and administrators.
3. Cocky/arrogant fans. I don't mind the cockiness and arrogance of some fans from their fanbases but there are some I really don't care about and when their team loses, they are not as quick to say anything.
2. The Detroit fan who threw a cup at Ron Artest. What was this freakish, uncool, crazy, knocked, inconsistent, nefarious, gross moron thinking? Especially when RWA cracked him with a series of punches.
1. I'll let you take a stab at who's #1 here. Read my mind and see if you can divulge who the #1 is............

President Skroob,
The #1 stupid fan in my book is Nathan Mallett...the Cleveland Browns fan who stormed the field at Cleveland Browns Stadium and got his arrogant, silly, self tackled by Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison during a 41-0 meltdown.
He defines what stupid fans are all about!

Here's #1 in my book...
ROOTING FOR A TEAM THAT YOU'VE NEVER SEEN PLAY IN THEIR HOME STADIUM BEFORE!
This means you, all you bandwagon Pittsburgh Steeler and Michigan fans. (Keno in particular).

MTOWN!!!!!
You done got under my skin now! First you pressure me into betting you a Subway footlong that Phoenix would beat San Antonio in a playoff series and now you say "ROOTING FOR A TEAM THAT YOU'VE NEVER SEEN PLAY IN THEIR HOME STADIUM BEFORE!"
You've really ticked off this moderator of Pittsburgh Steelers All The Way! But you know what...it's all right. Because I'm going to take some satisfaction in YOU buying me a Chicken Parmesan footlong sub sandwich and with it, cookies, chips, and a drink!!!!!!
Believe it or not...you've accomplished something that has NEVER been done on MassillonProud.com: getting under my skin. You're the first person to do it. And now you'll pay for it. I'll be waiting for my sandwich in May, so start making your plans now!

For the record, I am a Michigan fan who has been to a couple of UM football games and even a b-ball game.

What????? Are you saying that anyone who hasn't seen their favorite team play live in that team's stadium is a "stupid fan"? While I've been in the Jake, the Q, and Cleve. Municipal, I have never been in the new Cleve. Browns Stadium for a game nor the Horseshoe at OSU. Does that make me a stupid fan then MTown:huh: If so, I've got a whole lot of company out there!

You do have a lot of company out there. And especially the one that Brother MTown was aiming at when he made the tongue-in-cheek post, our own Keno "Sultan of Swat".

Oh wellll, I guess us stupid fans that can't afford to go to the stadiums to see our teams live must stick together and pick each other up when we are knocked down in the face of adversity:jestera:
Remember all you armchair and barstool fans out there,"There's strength in numbers" ! :gogogo:

CarlE,
It's all in good fun with me and MTown. Nothing personal...no harm and no foul. He WILL be getting me a Subway extra value meal in the next several months to come, you watch.
Mark me saying this: A potential playoff meeting between Phoenix and San Antonio. Take the Spurs. You heard it from me first.

I should have clarified my statement.
My disdain is for people who live in NE Ohio and root for the Steelers even though they have no ties to Pittsburgh. Folks who have never been there, have no family ties there, and most importantly who have never even been to a game in Pittsburgh but claim to be a diehard fan. How is that possible?

MTown,
Again, no harm and no foul. I became a Steelers fan after watching all of their highlights from the 70's and that allowed me to embrace that fast, hard, physical, bone-breaking championship tradition.

I also have seen a few games at the Big House and even practiced on the field a few times back in 1987! It is an experience just being on that field. I even had a conversation with the late great BO!

Clarification greatly appreciated:thanx: I share your basic feelings here in the above statement.......but "disdain" is such a harsh word. LOL !

So what you're saying is that you started to like them after watching video's of them winning Super Bowls...so you're a frontrunner?
Kamd50....disdain is 100% appropriate.

MTown,
I am raised with Pittsburgh blood, so you know I take pride in smash-mouth football and bone-breaking hits. Ask the nine New England players that were KO'd against Pittsburgh in their last two regular season games in 2004 (4) and 2005 (5) against the Steelers!

CarlE,
Actually yes I have been to Dennis Miller's hometown. I first went to Pittsburgh as a senior at tradition-laden Canton McKinley High School, when our biology class under the direction of Thomas Haren went to a science center!
I have a brother who was enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for one year and my dad has been to Pittsburgh on many occasions! So yes, I have been to Pittsburgh, PA...city entrenched in championship tradition! I have so many friends from that city...wow!
Now go watch the heart and soul of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania...greatly raised Catholic...excellent virtues, two loving sons, and great success http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb1UH98aZCs!
Keno
"greatly raised Catholic...excellent virtues"
Apparently, you haven't seen any of Dennis Miller's XXX rated monologues.

Al.
Miller was taught never to smoke, drink, or cuss. But he was a class clown at Keystone Oaks High School, where he graduated in 1970 (five years older than CarlE) and from Point Park College in 1974 with a degree in journalism.
But for most of his life, he was barred from using the language that he does today.
But I will give Miller this: He has had a place on my television set the last seven years!
If it's Miller Live, it's Miller Time!

i see that your skills with crafting hyperbole are developing nicely, which is something every wannabe sportswriter should posess.
not quite on par with your ability to copy and paste strings of adjectives from thesaurus.com but you've got to start somewhere i suppose.

tbone,
I've been doing that...stringing adjectives together for 10 years...I started as a freshman at Canton McKinley, when I spoke ill of Marv Albert when he raped Vanessa Perhach and held himself liable for it.
I hated him for that and I called him that day a "low down, dirty, sick, crazed, yellow, lying, creep, infested snake in the grass."
For seconds: "malevolent, arrogant, repulsive, vile, atrocious, lewd, bold, evil, rash, terrible."
Speaking of words...I want to send my wishes out to the courageous, ardent, nice, tough, overpowering, noted, marvelous, cool, keen, intense, numerically, loaded, empowered, yearning, brave, ultra, leading, lucky, dominant, outstanding, great, superb high school (my alma mater) for a successful title defense of their league crown against GlenOak...for the first time in three years, can you all believe I'll be going to a game as a fan (it's about time in my case)!
Finally, I get some relaxation...I've been working too long in media relations without a break. But I will be getting back at it soon!
