Now is that one of the craziest things or what? The fact that she wore a diaper in order to reduce stops just shows where this woman's head was/is. And she is married with 3 children? What a fine example to set for your kids. Yes darling you, too can return to wearing diapers just like mommy if you study hard, get good grades and fall off the deep end over a relationship. I realize that a person's private life off the job is exactly that, private, but I also think that when you commit yourself to a job where you are not only serving your country but being held (willingly or not) as an example to the youngsters of America that you should conduct yourself accordingly. I hope they get her some serious help before her next mission into the wild blue!

They sport diapers for launch and re-entry, this is normal for her when she is on a "mission". She is trained to be efficient and thought the stops would waste time and would allow her to be seen by other people or CCTV cameras. I do agree she is nuts.

Truth, once again, proves to be stranger than fiction.

Damn, she drove from Houston to Orlando, which means she would have been real close to driving past my house. And she didn't even THINK about stopping. Yeah, she's nuts all right!!! LOL.

That's something like a 12-14 hour trip. You would think at some point she the thought may have crossed her mind that this was not a good idea.

BTW...does anyone know if she actually used the diaper during that trip? That could get really uncomfortable after a few hours.

What kind of tunes was she listening to on the way there? Was she singing?

So many questions remained unanswered.

CarlE,

She drove a lot of mileage to pull that off. Houston to Orlando...gee freaking whiz! I haven't heard of a long trip like that since John Dobrowolski drove from Connecticut to Massillon (six hours) and Mark L. Newman drove from New York City to Massillon (five hours) to meet underage girls...and that also includes the late Martin Louis Koliser, who drove 24 hours from Youngstown to Florida to elude capture for killing a police officer.

But that woman outdone all those sadistic, oppressive, nasty, sleazy, old, freakish, brash, ignorant, thoughtless, crazed, horrendous, egotistical, sadists!

Gosh I love newspapers and information. News...is so meaningful, tantalizing, outstanding, worthy, nice.

WHAT?

:wtf:

Say WHAT? Nobody drove from freaking NYC to Massillon in five hours, Keno. Hell it takes 4 hours from Buffalo, bro. Perhaps a couple of geography lessons at Mount Union would have helped!!! LOL.

You guys are too funny today. Mtown's questions would come under the category of "inquiring minds want to know", lol !

Jim Rome has been going on about this story all afternoon. He is especially fixated on the fact that she wore the space diaper on the trip, hahaha! He's all but totally blown off the fact that he is supposed to be a sports show.

The news in the C-bus said she made it in 8/9 hours so she was really doing some rocket driving!! She is out her mind---Bi-polar is a better word!!

Space diapers---WOW I would not want to sleep with her--talk about fatal attraction!

My latest email update from CNN:

"NASA is revising its psychological screening of astronauts after one of them, Lisa Nowak, was charged with attempted murder."

LOL! And they are scurrying! I guess they have some serious damage control to conduct. Must be difficult for them that their screening practices will now be called into question. Gotta look out for that funding.

I still can't believe she wore her "space pamper" and confronted this woman without even having a "love relationship" with this other astronaut. This poor girl's personal life must be b-o-r-i-n-g if she has to create melodrama such as this.

And BTW Carl, what the heck would you have done with her if she stopped by your place? This I would love to hear! :scratchchin:

Well, we would have started out by changing her diaper. And then, well.....who knows?

CarlE is at that age where women wearing diapers becomes appealing. He's "scurrying" around the retirement communities right now.:heee:

Gee, ya think? LOL. How much do you want to bet that NASA has had different psychological standards for men and women astronauts, in the interest of political correctness and gender equity?

I would bet it is only in the interest of trying to get accurate results. Nearly 50 years and around 250 astronauts, I think they are doing OK........

From David Letterman:

"Top Ten Signs An Astronaut Is Trying To Kill You

10 Says, "This is a giant leap for mankind" as she tosses you off a bridge

9 You turn on CNN and see the Hubble Telescope focusing on your house

8 She promises to "Take you out like Pluto"

7 It sounds crazy, but you could swear Mars is following you

6 You were on the "Maury" episode: "I Had A Booty Call And Now An Astronaut Is Trying To Kill Me"

5 Her previous attempts to kill you have been postponed due to high winds

4 She poisons your Tang

3 Says she looks forward to being the first to walk on your lifeless corpse

2 Been getting threatening emails from Connie@International Space Station.com

1 She keeps stabbing you with a pen that writes upside down

He also mentioned how the woman drove 900 miles non-stop in a diaper to confront the woman. He then remarked the most amazing thing is "what kind of car gets 900 miles on a tank of gas?"

CarlE,

Try telling that to Internet sex predator Mark L. Newman. He pulled it off...only to get nabbed by a blizzard in the form of Bobby Grizzard. But then again, maybe you just might be right about him not going five hours.

Anyways...shame on that astronaut. She doesn't deserve to be one.

She would've had to have stopped to fill it up, one way or another. If you stop to do that, you can stop to take care of another needs. It's just bizarre.

stops on the side of the highway to fill up, I dont think there are any bathrooms in the median.........I guess she could have went in the bushes...........seems like she was doing everything she could to save time. She is crazy but efficient...........

I was watching several TV's at a club in Cinci the other night.
The coverage of this has been amusing, to say the least.

On MSNBC, they were running the story with the tag line "All the Wrong Stuff."
Fox's story had the tag line "Lust in Space."

LOL.

Later there was a great story about how NASA has decided to evaluate their psychological tests.
They think perhaps some revisions need to be made.

Duh?

Yes, and I will be bidding on that as soon as I win my bid for Britney Spears's hair.......Are people nuts? Who would want to own such a thing? I can barley stand carrying my little one's diaper to the trash, let alone let it hang around waiting for bids! And wouldn't that puppy be a bit heavy? Shipping costs alone would be expensive, not to mention the hazardous material issues if shipping it through the US mail!

Where is that head-shaking smiley.....never mind, this one is pretty fitting

An article on NASA's emergency procedures:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/space/4578209.html
"The procedures have been in effect for at least six years, but the space agency did not develop any protocols for dealing with astronauts who become unstable while on the ground.

NASA said Friday that it has never had to take the drastic actions outlined in the procedures in 46 years of human space flight."
