Did anyone else catch the interview this morning on the radio with Stacy and the head coach from Arizona? I hope so, it was really enjoyable. The guy truely sounds like a class act. He was very informative and a quite likable guy. It sounds like their program is progressing in leaps and bounds and it is definately going to be a good one:thumbsup: He and his kids, apparantly are pretty psyched about coming here along with getting to bring the kids to the HOF. He mentioned that they were coming to play the high school with the 2nd most WINS in highschool history in the nation, as per our reputation. Nothing about how many state titles....:scratchchin:
Anyhow, great broadcast this morning:tig: :ers:

That was a good interview. I found it interesting that the team is flying in on Thursday morning and will have a practice later in the day and another on Friday. Also, their school has been in session for three weeks.

I didn't have my tin foil and bunny ears out to be able to pick up that station but I'm glad somebody heard it. It's funny that the Tigers get plenty of respect if it's a team from another state. They understand the tradition. It's some of the jealous, myopic fans in Ohio that fail to see the forest for the trees. Thanks for the report.
Great interviews. did you catch the part when Stacy said we should be getting new turf next year.

I heard the part where the Chandler coach said they have had 6 kids transfer in this year, one of which is a 6'5", 215 lb. Free Safety! Yikes!!

Is it at all possible to catch a replay of the interview? Will it be broadcast again, or can we get it as some time of streaming file?
Missed it this morning, and would like to hear what the coach had to say.

Unfortunately WTIG doesn't steam their audio. However perhaps the interview on radiomassillon.com is archived.

That is too bad. Hmmm, trying to remember what he said. If I get mixed up will someone straighten me out! He said that they have around 70 players so that they have the luxury of not playing kids on both sides of the ball. He was speaking in regards to a question about practicing in the extreme heat out there. He said it was 101 either today or yesterday. He mentioned a few players that will have D1 full rides next year I think. And I think one of them has a father that was in the NFL and I think is one of their coaches?
He said their biggest strength was in their defense, mostly due to speed. The kids come in early in the morning for film and then practice after school and are pretty much used to the heat. He said he had heard of Massillon but once he found out they were going to play here he did his homework and is impressed with what he has learned. I can't remember what else right now.
Anyone? And like I said, if I screwed up, please correct me.

Pretty good summary Kamd50. I think he said 6 or 7 players will be getting D-1 offers, with a number going to ASU, where the former coach is now.
It was not mentioned where they are staying or practicing while in town.

He also mentioned how it is really growing out there and that kids will attend their school just to play football:eek: lol
There was no talk of where any practices or where they're staying. He did mention something about them going to a banquet once they get here though. Wonder where that will take place?

I suggest they spend a good deal of time seeing the sights- HOF, Rock-n-Roll HOF, Cleveland Science museum, Warther's Museum, Spring Hill, etc., etc. and get themselves filled up at the banquet (or send them to Hometown Buffet for each meal)
The AZ coach said they will fly in on Thursday and have a practice that day, then not mention if on our field. Then on Friday tour the Hall of Fame.

What an experience for a 16 - 18 yearold kid from Arizona !!!:tig:
The AZ coach said this may be the only time most of his kids get to visit the Hall of Fame.
Stacy mentioned that Herring was looking good at the FB position.
