The article also mentions some tidbits about the coaches and the level of participation in offseason workouts.

Did Tressell offer Coach Stacy a job yet? Another question I had from the article......With the Offensive Line play we had last year, do we want the same guy coaching them? :suspect:

Was that the real reason for the visit?? Tressel at WHS means he's interested in someone!!
Whether its Stacy, Herring, or Reggie is left to be seen! We know Steve can kick at OSU or anywhere but BCS schools rarely offer kickers!

Yeah, but if he wants him to come he's still gonna go visit. Id assume it was a visit for Reggie but anyone would be awesome. JT is gonna be huge this time next year maybe he's trying to get a leg up now.

Yes, it would be great if it was for another player, but he was here mainly for Steve Schott......Take it to the bank...Steve will go to OSU!

I would not let the BEST kicker in the state get away for another school if I was Tressel either!

Steve was at a junior day at OSU watching a practice before their bowl game. Very nice, quiet kid...very humble. His Parents were the same way. Glad to see a kid who doesnt listen to all the hype. I was telling him how good he was and he kinda just brushed it off like he was shy. McKinley game sealed it for me on how good he is hitting that long kick, into the wind, with a two step kick in a pivitol game. Very impressive. I know OSU loves him form talking to their coaches.

Tressel makes his rounds to the high schools all over the state at this time every year. Its usually more about touching base than anything or anyone specific.

As for kickers, Tressel reserves two schollies out of 85 for PKs. At the moment he has Prettorius with two years left and Pettrey with three years left. He also has Andrew Good, the excellent Boardman kicker, who transferred in from WVU, and has one year left..but I dont know his schollie status.

There are several ways to put another outstanding PK on the roster, using a gray shirt, or by making one a preferred walkon....and then bumping him to scholarship after one year and red shirting him the second.
