Ohio State survives a FURY from the Spartans, as they miss a 3 pointer at the buzzer to give the Bucks the win 66- 64 !!

Very sloppy second half for the Bucks. They let Michigan State get back in this one. Oden disappeared. I guess its good to get the win though after such a poor second half.
I was very impressed with Neitzel. I also wish the Bucks would have gotten Morgan. He is going to be a good one.

well i was glad my spartans made a comeback, but i failed to understand was why izzo made plays to shoot 3's to win the game rather than play for the tie. I think with the momentum the spartans had in the second half they could have easily handled the buckeyes in the OT. Oh well, they come to the "Izzone" next month.
GO SPARTANS!!!

The general rule as I recognize it is that you play to tie if you are at home, and you play for the win if you are on the road. One of you guys help me out here.

Carle, I have heard that before as well. But I have to agree with Pigskin in this situation. The Spartans were taking it to the Bucks in the second half. Ohio State was playing to not lose and waiting anxiously for the clock to run out. Although having Nietzel shoot a 3 with as well as he played was probably not too bad of choice with the shots he had been making.

Yeah, I was watching the game myself. MSU did have all the momentum, you are absolutely right about that.

CarlE,
The thing with hoops, as opposed to football, ...if you go for the tie, ( by driving the lane ), it can also lead to the win via a conventional 3 point play.
I think that with the way they played the 2nd half, they should have driven the lane at the end.
What kind of nailbiter would that have been, to see a tie game , with the Spartans on the line for 1 shot with 0:00 on the clock !! :ohno: :eek2:

exactly I couldnt agree more! Neitzel is a 90% shooter and would have probably made that one free throw if that situation would have happened.
