Any info on directions to Fremont for Friday's scrimmage?
Will the Indy have something this week?
About how long of a trip is it?
I remember going over there a couple year's ago but don't recall specifics as far as route or time... just getting stuck in outgoing Cleveland rush-hour traffic and ending up sitting in the first row on the goal-line...
Thanks!!!

If this link doesn't work go to Map Quest and plug in Stamm school for Fremont Ohio. Supposedly it is adjacent to Don Paul Stadium at Harmon Field (there I got it right)!

I posted this on the tailgate thread but here it is again. If you are coming to Fremont on the turnpike you may want to leave earlier. Coming into Fremont on Rte 53 there is major road construction all the way through Fremonts fast growing north end. Friday afternoons especially see major backups in both directions.

:ers: You can also get to Fremont by going west on Rt. 30 to Wooster, get on Rt. 250 west to Ashland and Norwalk, then take Rt. 20 west from Norwalk to Fremont. Exit on Rt. 53 south about a mile from the stadium. A nice drive with only a couple of little towns to go through.

Looking forward to the scrimmage on Friday.

The westbound exits from the US 20 bypass to Rte 53 are CLOSED due to the construction.

I think that RT 250 is the best best. 90 minutes to Norwalk, and a stone's throw to Fremont !!:ers:

I'm b-a-a-a-ck! :2thumbsup: That sounds like a good route to take.

Norwalk Tiger, what part of town do you live? I live 5 minutes walking distance from Ernsthausen Rec Center. A Norwalk Tiger and a Norwalk Little Giant. I like it.

I make the drive up that way frequently.

On a late Friday afternoon in the summer there will be traffic any way you go. Truck traffic, BOAT traffic, horse trailer traffic (dont ask me why in re the horses).

In spite of the construction on 53, the Turnpike route is fast going until you get to the last 2.8 miles.

I must reiterate the fact that the exit ramps for US 20 & SR 53 are CLOSED. If you choose to take this way you will have go onto the next exit and do a U'ey. I freakin forget about this almost every time I travel out that way.

The best way to go would be the turnpike. Since the exits are closed one set of lights are set to flashing yellow which really helps some of the traffic.

Looking forward to this one!!

Also the stadium MIGHT, be open for tours early on....

:ers: Thank you Keith for pointing out that Rt. 53 ramps are closed. I did'nt know that. People coming on Rt. 20 from Norwalk could exit at State Street and stay on State Street through town (about two miles) until you get to Rawson Ave. Turn right on Rawson and go to first light and turn left to stadium.

Jake Giant in Norwalk: I live in the condos behind Walmart, also close to the rec center. Send me an e-mail and we can talk. My address is tfrank6@neo.rr.com

If you come up using US 20 and come straight through town on State Street, Rawson Ave is the 11th light. You'll turn right at Rawson Ave. It is probably a better idea to go one extra exit on 20(SR19) and then get back on headed east to the SR53/Lake Erie Islands exit.

If you are coming from Bowling Green I assume you'll take US 6. Follow 6 all the way to Fremont. When you get to the 6 & SR 53 intersection turn left. This will take you north and it turns into the Fremont bypass (AKA US 20) You want the 2nd exit, Rawson Ave. Turn left at the light and follow Rawson Ave past the fairgrounds and turn right on Miller St ( flashing yellow light) The stadium should be in sight to your right by then. Park at the school.

Bring your appetite.
