Rather than fire Romeo Crennel, the Browns have decided to try to help their head coach in areas where he obviously has struggled.

At his postseason news conference Wednesday, General Manager Phil Savage indicated that he and owner Randy Lerner decided that Crennel was dealt a rather lousy hand of injuries, fading veterans and other problems.

Savage said he ``couldn't look at himself in the mirror'' and fire Crennel. He also didn't appear to want to endure another search of a coach, especially when there are no sure-bets with experience available.

So the Browns will stick with Crennel...

How many years should a coach in this type of situation get? Chris Palmer only got 2 years.
What does Crennel have to do this coming year to keep his job? 8-8? 7-9?
