Well the mighty Browns play host to the just as mighty Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday, Christmas Eve. This could be one I may not watch as it will probably be boring as hell. Probably the two worst offenses in football.

Anyway, if we (Tampa Bay) DO win believe me there will be hell to pay on this website Christmas morning!!!

I actually hope the Browns lose. The past couple of years we have blown draft slots by winning absolute meaningless games.

GO BUCS!

CarlE,

Tampa Bay will topple Cleveland. Cleveland has just about given up, especially after their 27-17 loss to Baltimore.

How do you know that Cleveland has given up more than Tampa? Tampa, right now, has a worse record than the Browns. They are still fighting but the Browns aren't?

Hey, if you go to the game, bro wear your Christmas socks. I'm sure you'll be REAL popular in the Dawg Pound with those. LOL

CarlE,

It's only four days to the first anniversary of Cleveland's 41-0 loss to the five-time world champion Pittsburgh Steelers!!

Now go finish watching Cowher have a good time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwxrmJfVIRE

Too bad Cleveland doesn't have a Super Bowl title whereas Bill Cowher has one! And Dan Reeves is still a better head coach than Martin Edward "Marty" Schottenheimer (though that could change if San Diego is lucky enough to win their first Super Bowl......if Schottenheimer can get out of the AFC playoffs first).

You still gotta be sore about that Bears game Sunday. I was pulling for the Bucs.

How did we get another Pittsburg rant in the middle of a thread about the Browns and Tampa Bay?

Gruden has to be hearing the coaching change buzz going on.

His demise started with the free agent loss of Sapp, cutting Lynch and johnson. if I am not mistaken they cut Kennen McCardell also. Why did Gruden and Mgt. attempt to get younger by replacing the heart of your team with 2-3 year unproven guys--instead of building around them while molding younger players. Tampa needs a QB also. I thought Gruden would rebuild a little better and faster letting all the good ones leave.

The Browns need alot of help!!

We were OK with him getting rid of Sapp. He was just an over-the-hill loudmouth that has done NOTHING at Oakland. It's when they pulled the fast one on John Lynch that the wheels started to come off. Along with Mike Alstott, they are the two most popular players in Tampa. And he has ignored Alstott for the better part of three years. Two things. Gruden doesn't like to be told what to do, and he doesn't like players more popular and visible than him. And yes, McCardell WAS a contract holdout that we ended up trading. Keyshawn was "suspended" for the final six games of the year and then left.

Based on your last post, you should have tried being a talk-show host :sunny: .

Alstott has a few good years left(gruden did waste the last 3 seasons), Keyshawn was a sign and trade deal for Joey Galloway-- that might be a even swap to this point. Oakland doesn't have anything up front to keep doubles off Sapp-- at Tampa he was with Rice and McFarlend so you couldn't double all of them-he fit in with them and chemistry goes along way and Sapp led up front brooks at LB's and Lynch in the Dbackfield. Lynch DEFINITELY should not have been let go while McCardell provided long and short ball catching stabitlity to the WR's. Veteran players mixed in with a sprinkle of youth is always better than a youth movement! I am a defensive guy and every week I would program Direct Tv to watch the bucs and ravens because their defenses were so good-- i still love the Ravens defense.

monte81,

The last several Super Bowls have been won by defensive teams shutting down vaunted offenses.

The 2000 Baltimore Ravens, the 2001 New England Patriots, the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers have used devastating, dominating, destructive, damaging defenses to power their way to world championships.

If I had to rank the defenses of these teams, being unbiased, I'd have to go with the 2000 Ravens defense followed by the 2002 Buccaneers, and a tie between the 2001 Patriots and 2005 Steelers.

Just a question for you: If these four teams faced each other in a four-team, three-match playoff, who do you think would likely win based on their defense?

monte81

Ravens-- there front four that year wouldn't let anyone block Ray Lewis and he was BEASTLY all season.---Best inside linebacker in the league right now(Urlacker???)

That Ravens defense was unreal.

I have to go with the Browns on this one though over TB.

Sorry folks, the Browns are terrible this season and have been for along time. As much as I hate Art Model, at least he put a respectable team on the field.

No doubt about it, the Browns stink. But what happened to all of those begging for people to jump on the Steelers and Bengals bandwagons?

Oh LORD, guys the Browns SUCK!! And I'm here to tell you Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo is an IDIOT on the sideline. Thanks for our win. Now, you've screwed up our draft choice picks. DANG IT!!

Actually we decided to give the game to you to get a higher draft pick so that we can waste it on someone we don't need.

If I am GM, I am drafting all lineman.

I am starting to regret that Chris Palmer was only given 2 years.

CarlE,

I feel worse than you do. The reign of the men of Dennis Miller's hometown is about to end :sad2: .
