Lady Tigers defeated Northwest tonight and will face the winner of Perry/ Central game that was being played in the nightcap. Good job girls for overcoming some obstacles from yesterday. ( two girls quit because of lack of or no playing time. second time this has happend.) The rest of you just hang tough and keep practicing hard. It can be frustrating at times when you think you should be or just want to be on the floor. We need to keep building the future, so stick with it. I do agree though that in three of the six games the score was out of reach for the Tigers and coach never cleared the bench to give his backups some playing time that could help the team down the road.
:scratchchin: Note to self: When down by 15 or more and you only have scored 4 points in the second half, let the others in...they couldn't do any worse than the starters and it builds depth.
Varsity Good Luck Wednesday night!!!

I believe that the second and third quarters are the ones that everyone should be able to get in the game. All of them don't have to get in at once. But doggone, no one goes out for anything just to sit the bench. Gets old pretty quick. I go to all the practices, play hard, learn the plays, maybe good enough for third team. O.k. I can accept that. But come game after game I don't get in, frustration sets in. I QUIT!!

The JV Lady Tigers are playing pretty well right now. I dont remember the last time we had winning record for the JV girls for a season. Congrats on going to the championship of the Mayors cup. Bring your game ladies Thursday night and bring home the cup. Good Luck!!!

I will agree to the extent that they have a winning record and have played well at times. But at the Mck game on Sat. they were struggling bad in the 3rd. and 4th qrts. It was 17-17 at the half, but at the end of three it was 30-19. Ended 36-21 and a few of the girls never saw the floor. I again will say we have made progress as a TEAM but some of the girls are geeting frustrated coming to practice time and time again not getting a chance to get in. You can not simulate a game atmosphere in practice, and if they are not given the chance they won't be able to get that feel for the real thing. I never let my kids quit anything but have been close to letting them a few times. High School is when you seperate "The men from the boys" but everyone can play an important role, and even see some P.T. to keep that spirit going. Frosh and Sophs are in a learning stage at the next level. Some learn quicker but some of those that don't, will be just as important in one game or situation down the road and if as a coach you turn them off earlier it will be difficult to have them ready-n-willing when called upon.
The worst thing I have ever had to do in my life was tell a kid "Your not good enough and I have to let you go." Coaching has many rewards but it is very stressful when you have to make decisions that will hurt a kids pride. I have been on that side, as a player I had my dream ended by a baseball coach. Being told that the club is letting you go, going in a different direction, you just aren't working out, you don't have what it takes. I thought I was going to die.
Well anyway girls you keep your eyes and head up, you are winning as a team and all play important roles so keep working at practice and when you do get that chance BE READY TO ROCK and show coach that you can do it too! Many second teamers become superstars everyday WHY NOT YOU TOO!

The biggest thing I saw with Saturdays McKinley game was alot of girls can not handle the ball when they get it. Fumbling it away, making bad passes and giving easy turnovers. That is what cost the team.

It is important for Massillon to win the Mayor's Cup this time around. No one on the girls team was happy at how the game ended with Perry players celebrating their championship on the Obie logo at the end of their 46-38 win.
That should not have happened and I'm sure A.J. Fisher has talked to his team about that.
Look for the Tigers to be motivated.

The JV lost but they played well. Alot of the JV players are also playing varsity so I believe they were only allowed to play 2 quarters of the JV game.
The Varsity Knocked off Northwest & they take on Perry in the Championship @ 2:30 PM today @ Central.

Massillon will win...A.J. Fisher hasn't let his team forget how Perry players celebrated the title on the Obie inside the Massillon gym last year.
Perry's ladies did a lot of talking to the Massillon girls all through the game. I'm sure Fisher will remind his team of that.
What goes around will come around.
