Peter King of Sports Illustrated estimates it will go like this:
1. Lions - Brady Quinn, QB
2. Raiders – Troy Smith, QB
3. Cardinals – Joe Thomas, T
4. Buccaneers – Calvin Johnson, WR
5. Browns – Ted Ginn Jr., WR
6. Texans – Alan Branch, DT
7. Packers – Gaines Adams, DE
8. Redskins – Leon Hall, CB
9. Rams – LeRon Landry, S
10. Vikings, Levi Brown, T

Ginn's a great talent but someone please tell the Browns that a receiver is not their greatest area of need.

Adrian Peterson

THAT projection smells worse than my laundry basket.

The Cardinals don't need an OT; the Browns don't need a WR. I really don't see Troy Smith going #2. IF Adrian Peterson (RB, Oklahoma) shows well at the combine, he'll go very early.

If the Browns take Ted Ginn I'm done.

Peterson is the best player in college football! Anyone who passes on this kid is making a mistake. He can flat out get it done at RB. Ginn Jr. is not a top 10 pick and is not better than jerrett at USC

Peterson is the best player in college football!....

Amen. We'll only wonder how well he & the Sooners team would have done this past season had he not suffered the fractured clavicle (that's a broken collar bone, for youse non-medical folk.)

If Peterson shows at the combine that he's 100% recuperated from that injury ... I think the Raiders will take him at #2.

Of course, the Raiders have more holes than Holmes County swiss cheese....

The Browns needs start at the O-line.

If the Browns can get Adrian Peterson, they should take him. If not, then trade down and get some good linemen. Ted Ginn will be playing for the Buckeyes next year, he's just trying to impress the girls so they keep him warm all winter.

TC, AD will be ready-- I really dont think he will be there at #5 for Cleveland. Ginn jr. better stay in school because he aint ready--flat out! He would be a special teams player at best right now. I want to see what he can do without his homeboy playing QB!! The OSU kids seem to be worrying about a drop off after this season with Smith leaving?

WR's
1. Johnson--GT
2. Jerrett--USC
3. Snead-- Texas
there is a few more but Gonzo would be 2nd round in my opinion. Ginn probably will go high but will be on a learning curve for the 1st 3 years.

what everyone here is forgetting is the amount of pressure that will be on the Browns front office to draft one of the two "hometown" boys. I really feel that the Browns will draft either Smith or Ginn....and as a Steeler fan I hope they draft Eric Metcalf.....errrrr I mean Ted Ginn Jr.

I say go for an O-lineman in the first round. I would love to have Gonzalez in the 2nd round, but feel like there are more pressing needs.

I don't want Ginn at all. I don't see him as an NFL receiver. Just a returner. Could he switch back to CB and be effective in the NFL?

if thomas is gone when the browns are drafting i wouldn't mind seeing them getting big alan branch out of michigan

Crackerman....I dont think they will feel any pressure drafting the hometown boys....especially since they wont be best on the board when the Browns draft. The Cleveland fans are a little smarter than that...maybe in "Da-burg" that would play out.

The problem with cleveland is they do not attract the top free agents in the off season. Cleveland needs to get Bentley healthy and maybe pick up 2 quality veteran linemen in the off season. However do attract top free agents you have to be willing to spent top dollar and we know the Browns have a tight wallet. They need linemen, a game changing RB(Droughns is not it), and some defensive studs at the skilled positions to make plays.

However i dont feel that Frye or Anderson is a starting NFL QB so why not take Smith and Peterson is the real deal and will help them right now. Anyone of them would be a solid pick.
Do people think if Gonzo enters that Cleveland can get him in the 2nd round????
Ginn jr. should stay in school-- TC, it might be the girl tricks!!

Come on Monte, rarely do I defend the Browns but you need to be fair to them. They have a difficult time attracting FA's because they suck...not because they don't spend the money. They could have (and probably should have) nailed KW2's balls to the wall after the motorcycle incident but instead they reworked his deal. Then they paid like $35 million for Kevin Shaffer. They paid a ton for Bentley. They paid a ton to Butch Davis to LEAVE.

The Browns problem is incompetence and the forces in the universe that make any decent player we have suffer a serious knee injury.

Like I said too much for the wrong people! Bentley should pay off eventually--kevin shaffer?? Every year they get the mid to low level free agents and if you want a playoff team thats where you start. Look at what Droughns is making?? More than half the backs in the league-- wrong person's name on the check! When we get a chance to land a high profile players we dont sign them because we paid "hopefuls" all the $$$$$$. Look at all the free agents we could of gotten last year or the year before and didn't make a move-- Keyshawn Johnson, Charles Woodson, Drew Brees, and slew of pro bowl caliber defensive players we deserately need!--- we never pull the trigger and I can name 20 more that are better than the players we have now.

If Adrien Peterson is there and the Browns pass on him--- it would just make my point even more clear-- front office needs remodeling not the coach!

I agree with you on some stuff and not so much on others...

Bentley was a great pickup...who knew this would happen to him and now he may miss two years.

Shaffer should have been an improvement and for the position, his pricetag was about right compared to other guys. He just happens to suck now that he is with the Browns (which is another nice trend we seemed to have picked up).

Droughns just came off a 1,200 yard season (the first one in 20 years for the Browns). I do think his contract, at the time, was justified. With his running style, the shoulder injury he suffered against the Bengals really hurt him more than people realize. He's a bruiser and when you can't bruise, you have nothing.

Keyshawn Johnson and Charles Woodson would have done nothing for this team. They would have only caused problems on this team. Could you imagine having Keyshawn, Braylon, and KW2 on the same receiving corp? OMG...they would all be going nuts.

I agree about Drew Brees. With Chuck Frye as your only QB...you gotta make a run at a proven QB like that.

Adrian Peterson....great player, will be a great back. But ask yourself this....as bad as the line has been, does it really matter?

The Browns, once and for all, need to draft nothing but O-line and D-line. Spend every pick, use every free agent dollar on nothing but those two areas. We can't run the ball and we can't stop the run. Without that, we will always suck. ALL SEVEN ROUNDS OF PICKS NEED TO GO TO THOSE AREAS. And Browns fans better STFU if they do.

Woodson would of been a great addition to the team--ohio kid who loves Ohio. Keyshawn is better at 32 than our whole WR core-- bring him in for all the tough catches that all the browns cuurent WR's drop!!!

The defense sucks and needs overhauled. I just hope theycan make a run at the playoffs befroe 2010!!!

Woodson loved Ohio so much that he went to Michigan. LOL

I love how our D switched to the 3-4 and we've been worse. We had crap D-lineman in the 4-3, we need one less guy now, and we suck even worse.

I will add this....Giving Ted Washington the money he got was a waste. The dude is just too old.

Woodson picked Michigan because they started calling first and courted him from soph year--- in the Cooper days he was funny about Ohio kids and let them walk out the state lines to U. of M--thats why he's GONE! I saw Woodson's interview last year on NFL Network when hesaid Ohio High School football is King and he would love to play at home one day but $$$ is always a factor in the NFL! You think the Browns would have given him 30+ million for 4 years!

A 3-4 defense is designed to let the linebackers room and make plays but the browns lack speed at that position and they are not Pro bowl type players you need at that position--Davis is the only one putting his play out to be noticed--he will leave after his contract if we dont get it together. YES--Washington was a waste of $$$!
