I bet they are ready to return home. Sounds like some questionable road officiating from Tiger Don's article.

Why would it be questionable road officiating? Couldn't it be turnovers, mental mistakes, lazy defense? Coach Creamer doesn't share your opinion:
"We found a way to win on the road, but gave away opportunities to win big, said a disappointed Coach Matt Creamer ?That's one of those games where we seem to do that a little bit up here. We play tough and get ahead and all of sudden things happen. The people who are experienced, they need to be smarter with the ball. Some players on this team can really play. We just made goofy mistakes with the ball at times. We can't play teeter-totter with the lead. We can't go up, down, up, down with the lead. As soon as we get that developed and we learn that we can play with the lead and build the lead, we?re going to be much better?"

PLAYING ON THE ROAD FOR 4 GAMES, TAKE THE WIN AND GET HOME!
It is always harder on the road, turnovers will happen it is how you react after them. We worked out the win and enough said. We had to play guys more off the bench and it worked out ok. They got valuable P.T. that will help the team down the road. Good job Tigers!

I know some officials who would throw you out of the gym for that comment! LOL!

My boy's son, Melvin Haynes hit that shot to send the game into overtime.
Garfield has a decent team that pushed the Tigers to the limit!
I told him to be ready for a dog fight......

So please tell me what happened since you were at the game. I wasn't there and was looking at the quote, "No lead is safe in high school basketball. The Tigers found that out against Akron Garfield, as they squared off against a taller and very athletic opponent, fought through the usual questionable calls and no-calls commonly found on the road..."
I was only implying that it will be nice for them to get home since you tend to get more of a benefit on the questionable calls. I didn't state that these calls were their only downfall, did I? I agree with you that based on the article they made some mental mistakes.
So, Coach Creamer doesn't share my opinion that there were questionable calls? When did you talk to him? Again, I am not saying that there were not mental mistakes, turnovers, lazy defense, etc. I never said that only the questionable calls lead to a close game. I said, based on Tiger Don's atricle, that there were some questionable calls on the road (which can happen with any road team) and it will be nice for them to return home. Is this not a fact?

I didn't make the road trip the other night, however, I did listen to WTIG and we played very sloppy. Were very fortunate that we pulled this one out, if were going to be a 14-16 win team with this schedule, we had to have this one.
I just get so tired of hearing about QUESTIONABLE CALLS, whether it's football, basketball, baseball, tiddle-winks for that matter. When you go on the road in any high school sport, guess what, you will have some bad calls against you! Live with it! Do you know how many fans have told me, I hate to play at Massillon, we get cheated over there! Everyone thinks that about everyone!
I've been going to games for over 20 years and we have the best and worst fans. We cheer and root like crazy, but get one call against us, and oh my God, you'd think they were taking your first born! I've witnessed adults cussing and screaming at the refs 3/4 of the way up the stands.....little secret people........the refs can't hear you on the field!!!! The only people hearing you ranting and raving about a holding call is the poor people all around you.
It just gets old hearing people always saying:"questionable calls did us in", maybe sometimes it's our sloppy play.

I spoke to him the very next morning after the game, and we talk several times a week. If you ask Coach Creamer, you get the same calls on the road as at home. Your dealing with high school officials, who if they were perfect, wouldn't be working high school games. Officials don't care who wins games, they want to officiate a fair, clean game. For some reason, fans have this impression that being "on the road" gets you a different set of rules, but coaches don't.
