Massillon used an 8-0 run to pull away. Michael Porrini's alley-oop to Justin Turner (who pounded down a powerful two handed monster dunk) was the deathnail in the Division III state finalist Vikings.

VA-SJ was done in after that. The Massillon crowd was on fire and the Tigers were on their way to a 2-0 record under 47-year-old commander Matt Creamer.

In the JV game, Corey Porrini scored 17 but Massillon absorbed their second devastating loss on the season in the form of a 45-44 loss to VA-SJ as the Cleveland team used a 6-0 run to pull out the win (the second 6-0 run allowed by the Tigers...Dover used a 6-0 run to defeat Massillon Tuesday night).

I do like what coach Sean McCartney is doing. Massillon will win their share of games this year.

Ouch! By an account from someone in attandance, the Tigers looked tired following the emotional win over state-ranked St. Joe the night before. They'll bounce back!

Congrats to a WELL played game on Friday night by BOTH our JV and Varsity Basketball teams! (Sorry couldn't get to last night's game!) Only got to see the last half of the JV game, but what a game...down to the very last seconds! Be proud boys! With a little experience under your belts, that game would have been yours! AND to the Varsity team! WOW! I was impressed! You guys looked wonderful and same with you...with a little more experience...that game would have been a BLOW OUT! Great Job! Great Win! Can't say enough GOOD about you boys! Coach C has you going in the RIGHT direction. Stay focused and listen to your COACHES (not some of us mouthing fans!) :tounge: and ALWAYS hold your heads high!

BG and MP what a show! What leadership (on the floor and I am SURE off too!) JT, JP, BS, CI and the rest of the team...Watch, Listen and Learn...You are a very talented group of kids! Looking forward to seeing many GREAT games this year! 2-1 great start! :dance:
