As I have been posting for months, Crennell is in way over his head. 0-8 vs. the Bengals and Steelers the past two years. He is simply not competent as a head coach. Savage gets his share of the blame too. His free-agent pickups have been busts for the most part, and his drafting mediocre.
Derek Anderson one of the few bright spots. He seems to have more awareness in the pocket than Frye, is more accurate with his throws, and gets rid of the ball quicker. Anderson has earned the right to start the rest of the season, IMO.
Other than JJ, the receivers sucked big time. Why is Northcutt playing ahead of Cribbs and Wilson? Northcutt should be a punt returner only, and nothing more.

Why is Dennis Northcutt playing AT ALL? The Browns should immediately cut Northcutt, McGinnest, Ted Washington, Terrelle Smith, and most of all Kevin Shaffer and Cosey Coleman. (two AWFUL linemen)

Washington had a good game last night.
He is one of the only guys who is consistently a starter on their line.
How about Edwards and those hands...man, oh man. He certainly has earned the name old stonehands..

You're kidding, right??
Washington was getting blown off the LOS all night.

the browns are an embarssement, if i was the owner I would be embarassed to put field a team like that, we may have a better record then Oakland but I don't see us being that much better then them, also northcutt is supposed to be a vetran and a leader and there he is dropping 6 passes last night, they looked pathetic, derek anderson would have looked a lot better if it wasn't for all of them dropped balls, the browns were making the right calls on offense but the dropped balls killed that

TigerDL71,
I agree 100%. I don't think it's all Romeo's fault, but he can't seem to get these guys to play week to week. He may have to go, even though that's not the whole solution to the problem.

If I could own the Browns, I'd make NFL History. I would try trading EVERY player on the team for all draft picks. The ones I can't even get a draft pick for would just be released. Then Next year, we would have like 40 draft picks in the 6 rounds of the draft. Use 11 of those for Offensive lineman from the best college programs in the country, see, I say 11 because we're thinking depth too. Then use 11 for Defensive lineman, Then, DB, DE, , then WRS RB and QBS. But get the best ones available from all the great college programs in the country. Then Get a new head coach , someone with some fire and decipline that these young kids would be afriad to mouth off to him or eachother. Then keep that chemistry together for years to come, and I bet they would grow into winners. .......................... What really ticks me off though in all reality now, is Look at the Steelers. Bill Cowher has been the head coach for 15 years, The browns, How many head coaches have they gone thru just in the last 7? And how many GMS and any other personel. There is no stability with the Browns. And until they get something in place and stick with it, this is probably as good as it gets with them.

Anderson had a great game- If they would have caught all those tipped balls, or those balls that landed on their chests they would have been right with the Steelers throughtout nost of the game.
This is why the Browns lost:
Keys to victory
To win, the Browns must ...
1. Attack the D-backs. They never tried to throw deep vs. the Steelers in Cleveland, a no-no vs. a team that has struggled to prevent big plays.
2. Gum the run. Opponents have been doing that to the Steelers, who have averaged just 58 yards rushing the past three games.
3. Keep Ben penned. After intercepting him three times in the first meeting, the Browns let Roethlisberger direct a 21-point fourth quarter.
Ben had a great game- he looked the Ben of old. He came out of the pocket and ran and threw after missing several tackles.
The Browns running game is undetectable. They couldn't run through a sprinkler. They ran all over us in the first match up-even with Polamalu gone last night they went no where.
They threw deep- but the receivers dropped key balls, missing oppurtunites to make big plays against a team like the Steelers is a no-no. They were marching down the field on several key drives only to be shut down on 3rd and 3.

This wasn't an embarrassment...this was a first-round knockout!
I wonder what the heart and soul of WTAM 1100, Mike Trivisonno would be saying by now............
I do know this: 27 is more than 7 and the Steelers have tied the NFL's greatest rivalry at 55-55!!!!!
When the momentum is with the Pittsburgh Steelers...there isn't a single team that can beat them!

I've always been disappointed in our offensive line. But how do we get so many receivers that drop the ball?

Whatever ails the Steelers, the Browns can fix. That was pathetic.
