BEREA - Joey Porter never has been one to run from reality.

So the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker didn't run from the reality that backup Derek Anderson probably will make his first start at quarterback for the Browns on Thursday night at Heinz Field.

``I don't think three days is enough for him to get ready to play our defense,'' Porter said Wednesday.

So be it...

I look for the Browns to bring it this week. They are looking for redemption and we all know that when you're talking rivalries records don't matter.
I think he will struggle against BLITZBURGH but I feel that he has alot to prove what better time than against the Steelers. It out to be a good game.

BUT YOU KNOW- GO STEELERS!

I was at the last meeting and that game was a close one-too close.
I just am saying that they have something to prove. But with a back up, and our overpowering defense I say their will be a lot of qb sacks, and a lot of interceptions-Polamalu is gonna have a great game. I do think they are gonna have a hard time scoring an offensive touchdown since they area gonna have a back up throwing...

That's an awful lot of smack from a team that won't even make the playoffs. Perhaps he should shut up and concern himself with the fact that the defending world champions are embarassing themselves.

I agree MTown, and maybe he should watch the last game when Winslow stiff armed his butt to the ground. Funny how all that smack that was talked between the two before the game, and only one really showed anything. I think the Browns will be competitive in this game and if Anderson has the time to get the ball to K2, Edwards, and Joe J. then the visitors have a chance. Hopefully K2 gets a shot at Porter again in this game!

I tried all summer to tell Keno that with the Steelers losing Randle El, Chris Hope, and Van Olhoffen, that they were going to be hurting but he just didn't want to hear it. Now that they've been getting their butts kicked, they have been reduced to running their mouths against the Browns because they sure can't run any smack against the Ravens or anyone else with a winning record.

I realize the Browns won't be allowed to touch Ben under any circumstances, but I hope the officials will cut back the number of steps the Steelers can take after the Browns qb throws the ball from five to four before they hit him.

I know it kinda sucks...Browns have a bad year, Browns fans have nothing to talk about....Steelers have a bad year, Steelers fans play count the rings. In case your keeping score at home it's 5-0

I GOT 2 WORDS FOR YOu SCORE BOARD!

and Von Olhoffen was really the only one that hurt us.

True it sucks being a Steeler fan this year- but IT'S GOTTA SUCJ BEING A BROWN'S FAN EVERY YEAR.

True it sucks being a Steeler fan this year- but IT'S GOTTA SUCJ BEING A BROWN'S FAN EVERY YEAR.

It does suck. We are terrible every year. As a Browns fan I have low self-esteem and like getting kicked in the face.

But, I can still hate the Steelers and all of their fans. I have never, in all my life, seen so many bandwagon fans than the "new" Steeler fans. They are easy to spot. All you have to do is ask them a couple simple questions...

Have you ever lived in Pennsylvania?
Have you ever been to a Steelers game that wasn't in Cleveland?
Were you a Steelers fan when they had Bubby Brister and Louis Lipps?

If you get "no" to those questions (which happens 90% of the time) you have yourself a bandwagon Steelers fan.

BTW....losing Chris Hope was the most underrated loss going into the season and it's hurt you the most. How has Polamalu played this year?

He's hurt and might not play at all tonight.
Btw-
1. yes
2. yes
3. yes
I agree with the bandwagon fans- but it's like that with every team.

My mom is from PA. and we have gone there every year since I was a young girl...born into a Steeler family.

You are in the 10%.

I thought Ohio State had a bunch of jumpers, but never like I saw with the Steelers after they won the Super Bowl. It was sickening.

Ohio State did have a lot of bandies- after the Miami game I never seen so many people sporting OSU gear.

And BTW- that is my family's favorite quote..."I don't mop up after anybody" it's big joke at holidays..

"I don't mop up after anybody"

I kinda like that. I might have to borrow that, if you don't mind.

Wouldn't that be bad being a Brown's fan and quoting a former Steelers QB?

You said it BROTHA' !
use it all you like. My mom says it for everything- could you pass the ketchup? "I don't mop up after nobody"
Can you watch the kids?
"I don't mop up after nobody"

it gets old, so it's a big joke..we all see who can use it the most.

MTown and Tiger1906,

Keep on with the banter. Pittsburgh will be ready for Cleveland again. We had the tougher football team in the first meeting when it counted most!

William Laird Cowher will have his Steelers celebrating their sixth straight win over Romeo A. Crennel and his Browns.

It's December 7th and the Pittsburgh Steelers are still world champions!

Now go finishing watching the fights on TVKO Pay-Per-View from HBO......

I hope the joy of beating the hopeless Browns last all through the whole year...especially since the Steelers will not get a chance to defend their title in the playoffs.

1. have the Browns ever had a title to defend?
2. have the Browns ever made it to the play-offs in your lifetime?
3. it always is a joy to beat the Browns and most times we meet they are hopeless so we get our joy where we can take it.

Browns fans should stop worrying about the Steelers and what their record is and pay more attention to their own team. O-wait. i keep forgetting, you dont have a team.
Yes i know the Steelers arent going anywhere this year, but at least their still better then Cleveland!

1. Yes. As much as some would like to forget the Browns were a dynasty in their earlier years with many titles, many Hall of Famers, and featured the greatest football player who ever lived.....

It's just been 40 years.

2. Yes. 2002...and yes I remember who beat them in the playoffs.

3. The Steelers beating the Browns is like Ohio State beating Northwestern. I cannot believe you get any joy out of it.

Look, I am a lifelong Browns fans...but we suck. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, bad. I cannot believe that Steeler fans are making such a big deal out of this. For the Super Bowl to miss the playoffs, it's a big let down but no one seems to care about that.

MTown,

You need to get off my man...the jumping, outstanding, excellent, yearning, everlasting, uncontested, great, effective, nasty, enhanced, powerful, overpowering, radical, tough, eager, ripped Steelers linebacker known as Joey Porter!

Porter is one of the three hardest-hitting linebackers in the game today (Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher are the other two).

Yes that's about 90% of the Steeler fans in our area (if they answer honestly).

Team A was predicted by most to be a playoff team this season. Many even predicted them to be in the Super Bowl. Team B has done nothing in over a decade and was not predicted by many to even make the playoffs. Which team would you say is the bigger disappointment THIS SEASON?
