How tragic. He will be sadly missed and only at 61- he barely had lived his life.
How wonderful that he got to see his son win the Super Bowl- how proud he was.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and God Speed my man.

That response wasn't warranted. We're not talking about football here, we're talking about human life. Geez, Louise.

Agreed- I live in Ohio too, but about 46 miles closer to Pittsburgh-
I guess I should've posted something like that about Casey Coleman, with me being a Steeler fan and all..no I have class.

My heart is devastated to hear the passing of Johnnie Bettis. The father of soon-to-be Hall of Famer and world champion Jerome Bettis. At least he got to see his son get a Super Bowl ring and his world title in Detroit last February. My heart is breaking to hear this...I last saw him on TV after the Steelers destroyed both Denver and Seattle in the playoffs (including the shocker over Indianapolis). Him and Gladys never missed their son's NFL games over his 13-year career.
cfultonTIGER, on behalf of your post, I apologize for how you feel and what you posted. Maybe you will see the ways of your post. Maybe not now but soon.
I hate when people pass away. It's a sick feeling that no one should have to go through.
My heart goes to the Bettis family. :sad2:  .
P.S. And TigerLoverFromAfar.........I loved Casey Coleman.

I stated in the thread about Casey that I too loved him and even listened to the sorry Browns to hear him commentate.

TigerLoverFromAfar,
I taped the Pittsburgh-Cleveland playoff game on NFL network three years ago and I hear Coleman's voice on there.
My heart to the Bettis family.
