Civil War n: a war between factions in the same country.

this is the mess that the president got us into. Now we have brave soldiers dying in a middle of a civil war. Who side do we fight with? We need to realize that we should never had gotten into this war, and leave now. No other american soldier should die for Iraq. Bring Our Soldiers Home Now!!

unfortunately the president recently said that he's not going to bring the troops back until the mission is accomplished. so let's see.......he proclaims "mission accomplished" then sits here safely as our troops are getting killed every week, then proclaims that he won't pull troops out until his mission is complete.

so what is he doing to complete this mission?

OK, if anybody doesn't think we are in a Civil War there they are sadly mistaken. I can't wait to see the differing viewpoints and spin on this one. And yes, I AM a conservative Republican.

"civil war"

An oxymoron to say the least.

.........

........bob woodward's book title hits this on the head as our president says this is not a civil war.......young george has a very stubborn streak and i think he feels he is being pressured to act on a withdrawl ..he would feel listening to his father's generation thoughts on iraq as a weakness[imho].....personal egos and wars are a very bad mixture....
........i have my own theory on the bush/cheney/rumsfeld attitude on war and death....all 3 have guilt about vietnam and want to make up for it with a successful war in iraq and although it's great to have the nazi [rumsfeld] gone will still have our 2 top leaders in total denial about iraq....just as clinton did know what sex was bush doesn't know what a civil war is.......
.......explaining the guilt....strings were pulled to keep dubya stateside, cheney was deferred a few times and rumsfeld who was called an excellent military flight instructor could have helped in just that manner......yes, iknow he was in government at the time but he could have been more valuable in uniform....and all 3 try to or really do have a cavalier attitude about military and civilian deaths

.......this of course is strictly my opinion and has nothing to do with parties or the lib and conserv vocal civil war......we are american and can think freely for ourselves ......of course you are correct about a civil war fats as it's looking, walking and quacking like a duck ......

As a retired Army "Air Assault" trooper from the 101st airborne division I am glad i'm not over there and have many friends that I pray come home safely!! I was at the veteran's symposium in Chicago last month fighting for better services for our veterans and troops and MOST of the military wounded and highly ranking soldiers want the forces to come home!! Alot are bitter and just want revenge but I feel we are fighting a losing battle!! I have been to a few hot spots and trained with some of the best warriors this country has to offer and-- IF WE HAVE NOT GAINED CONTROL BY NOW-- WE ARE NOT WITHOUT A 5 ADDITIONAL YEARS od commitment!!! My former chief who has been to Irag 3 times said quote "I will take a early out or discharge before I would want to take another tour over at that place"!!! He is a model soldier that gave me the skills to survive all the "conflicts" during my terms and has 19 years in the Army!!!! It is time to reevalute the exit tradegy NOW!!!!!

The light has finally come on for some people. To bad that so many people believed all the lies for going over there. Just think of how different it would be, if we never started this pre-empted war. Seventy per cent of this nation swallowed this B.S.

........it's tough for a soldier to be totally honest about his service while close to superiors who would turn the screws......it's when he seperates that the truth usually comes out......i know i have no desire to ever see or smell vietnam again and the only reason a soldier usually wants to return to a nasty situation is to help his buddies,,,for active soldiers to speak out sounds like the 60's and some very real bitterness,,,,,

its more about the treatment received after we come home that makes us bitter!!! VA benefits, employment, and right now I am seeing 70% of soldiers who come through my office have PTSD-- the govt. is really trying to downplay the defieciencies in our system!! I was lucky that after my injuries I had a chance to finish my degree and get a job working for us veterans to make things better!! Any veterans needing assistance call me at AMVETS Dept. of Ohio (614) 436-3716

.........uncle sam....

.........when uncle sam wants you a soldier is an okay thing, but after you can no longer contribute you are a liability......i talked to a so called county appointed dav rep and i wonder if he gets a bonus for rejected claims...the dude an obvious pro government attitude towards vets.....i told him there would be a lot of ptsd from the roadside bombs, etc coming home from iraq and he quickly said "that will be hard to prove"...nice guy
