Winky Wright is headed towards a potential rematch with middleweight champion Jermain Taylor. But first, he must take care of former welterweight boss Ike Quartey.
Is Wright the next middleweight champion? For more:

Yo Keno:
And guess who will be sitting in Row 3 for this Winky Wright/Ike Quartey fight this Saturday night? Yes indeed. Yours truly and 8 other guys have the Hummer limo standing by and GREAT seats for the fight. I can't wait. I'll let you know how it was.

Lucky you!! Wright is a true fighter but lacks killer instinct. he will beat Quartey but will lose again to taylor if does not work harder in the ring with combinations-- the 1st fight he was waiting around trying to counter

CarlE,
I'll be watching the fight with my dad Satuday night! Fortunate for you to get ringside seats for the fight against Quartey. I believe the fight might be for an interim title or an eliminator bout (the winner will be the mandatory contender for the Jermain Taylor-Kassim Ouma winner...Taylor is the defending champion).
Quartey has been out of the ring six years and Wright is very hungry for what might lead to his second undisputed title (having won the jr. middleweight title over Shane Mosley).
I told my dad about how you once told me on the old MassillonProud.com that Roy Jones first win over Antonio Tarver "was a bogus decision and I'm sure your father will attest to that." True enough...my dad was right as he said it was bogus.
But back to Wright-Quartey. Wright wins by unanimous decision. I'll see if I can locate you on HBO. And look for Jeff Lacy to get back on the winning track.
It's nice to have a person like you know boxing facts on this forum!

I have to correct you, my friend. He didn't lose to Jermain Taylor. They fought to a draw in Taylor's home town of Memphis (close to where he grew up in Arkansas) and quite honestly, Winky kicked his ass.

My bag, I forgot it was a draw and I also thought Winky won but NEVER puts opponents away and that hurts with the judges because he slows down the punches in later rounds when he thinks he has the fight won!!!

CarlE,
I believed Wright won that Taylor fight. If not that controversial draw along with two other controversial losses to Julio Cesar Vasquez and Fernando Vargas...he would be undefeated right now.
I walked away from the T.V. set disfigured over how Wright didn't get a decision I thought he won.
