The men's basketball team joins the football team and is also ranked number one.

Anyone know when the last was that a school had #1 ranked football and basketball teams? I'm trying to find the answer.

Ohio State joins UCLA (in November 1967) and Notre Dame (in January 1974) as the only schools to be ranked No. 1 in both football and men’s basketball at the same time.

This is OSU’s first No. 1 ranking in either the AP or coaches poll since the end of the 1962 season, which was capped by a national title game loss to instate rival Cincinnati.

I was thinking initially UCLA back in the 70's.

This is going to drive me nuts until I get the answer.

I honestly don't think so either. Without Oden, we will get killed on the inside. Hansbrough is a good player and we will have no answer for him. Plus, that's a tough venue for a young team. I'm looking for us to play them tough and come out with a great learning experience.

Scheduling North Carolina and Florida for the young guys was a genius move. Getting those freshman into those types of environments early will pay big dividends once Oden starts playing and we head into the Big Ten schedule.

OSU did NOT schedule UNC. The matchups are determined by where each team finishes from the previous season.

That might be a problem to get it done without him but he is expected back by January!!
