He is a very good and talented player. He probably chose to play for Michigan instead of Ohio State because he knew his chances of starting would be better up there in Michigan. But that's ok. He just misses out on playing in National Championship games and the joy of Big Ten Titles.

Did you ever think that just possibly Shawn Crable LIKED Michigan better from the get-go?? And, very possibly, his experiences at UM far outweigh his "joy of Big Ten Titles."

I personally think Crable has the talent to make it to the NFL. The thing is, anything can happen. How many of us had Zwick starting his Freshman year in college? Many of us. And those who didn't figured that he, not smith, would be leading them to championship games and Big Ten titles down the road.

I'd like to think that he is taking away MUCH MORE important things away from UM than just playing for a championship. In the big picture, it's much more than football. I'm sure he's not second-guessing his decison.

"HE" made the best decision for "HIM"! Period! I'll always wish him good luck, except in that one game! Lol

Will he be back next year? If so, what makes him eligible to come back for another year?
Thanks.....

I have no doubt he's NFL material. I too want him to do well except for games against Ohio State.

Did Crable redshirt? I saw that he was injured his whole freshman year, but I didn't see anything about redshirtting.

I vaguely remember overhearing him say that he was being red-shirted that year. He was at the Mansfield game during his freshman season and was talking to a guy sitting close to me.
He'd look pretty good in a nice ORANGE helmet, with brown and white!!!
It has been very nice to see a kid come out of Massillon with great talent, and go on to accomplish great things. I wish Shawn all the best!

I ran into crable saturday night at b-dubs and bought him a few drinks. We were all sitting there watching the USC game and he was rooting for notre dame because he obviously wants his rematch. I told him i wanted to know for certain whether he was entering the draft this year or not because if so then im not gonna bother buying his michigan jersey.. . he told me to buy the jersey!! so im guessing that means he's staying for his senior year.

I think Crable is a senior. Some experts said he will be drafted.

I read that he was injured his whole freshman year. It didn't say anything about a redshirt, but some have mentioned that he did redshirt.

Just to let the record be known Shawn was redshirted his freshman year and WILL stay for the 5th year of the schlarship!! 2nd team all big ten and next year shooting for all-american!!!
As far as OSU and Crable-- he might of really considered but was told by Shawn himself as a junior at Massillon that he was going to UM unoffficially!! I backed it from day one because like tigerswillbetigers said he made that decision HIMSELF and felt that was the situation he wanted!!! Plus OSU waited too too late to get in the game!! Michigan pushed for 3 years-- LOYALITY!!!
As far as playing time at OSU he would of been in the same perdicament as well! Wait your two years then start! He has 3 letters at UM!!!

Easy partner...none of us wish ill will on Crable. I would love to see him playing on Sundays. But when he's wearing that winged helmet against Ohio State...I want to see him lose.

I never thought that and said he went to the wrong school for his passing talents! When Troy Smith came out of Glenville people in Columbus knew he would eventually start over Zwick--although Zwick was better at first! Look at all the QB's Tressel had at YSU-- he loves QB's with quick feet!! I thought Zwick should of went to UT and shined with his arm!! The big ten will never be a drop back pass league!!!

What about Michigan? I don't remember Tom Brady, Chad Henne or any other QB putting fear in the head of the defense with their running game.

I agree. I would like to see UM get a Troy Smith-type QB. I guess it's not in their plans as Ryan Mallett is like 6'5" or even 6'6".

Regarding Troy Smith, I'll be sending him a graduation card. Glad to see him go.

Zwick would of been a beast at Michigan also!! TC, zwick definitely has the tools to play anywhere in the nation but Tressel likes QB's that are mobile and Zwick is more a drop back gun slinger!!! The Vols, Purdue, anywhere were the emphasis is on pass but Michigan produces alot of poised QB's in the NFL!!!
Sometimes I wish these stark county kids would stick together and attend school together at a UC, Toledo, etc,... and build a powerhouse team and legacy!!!

The Stark County kids ARE sticking together....just at Ohio State.
Zwick
Jordan
Hartline
Barton
Downing
Lukens (although he may be gone)
Torrence (hopefully)
Those Stark County kids are going right where we need them.

Ohio State only recruits blue chip players and Everyone can't play at OSU and each team gets 65 full rides which amounts to 10-18 each year depending on how many 5th year seniors on the team!!!! I am talking about the kids who are less talented than OSU but good enough to play in the MAC, or bottom big 10 or mediore Big East schools!!!! Our county kids can start building a strong program in some of these schools if they stick together!! Illinois snatched 3 stark county kids last year and looking for more!!!

Illinois, quietly, is getting some good players from all over the country. The Zooker is going to have some decent teams coming up.

Talked to their coordinator who was in Massillon and went to the Warren game and they are interested in 2 or 3 tigers and Williams and Alexander from McKinley! BG already has an offer but might go alittle south done I70!!!

Yeah, MTown but the problem is "The Zooker" will still be the coach. Not real well thought of down here in Florida. Well, unless you're an FSU fan!!
