View Full Version : As for a possible rematch...

Anyone.
Anytime.
Anywhere.
As an Ohio State fan, I don't care who we play. If we want to call ourselves champions then we need to take on whoever they want, and beat them. I am not in favor of a rematch with Michigan...but if it's them, we have to beat them to be champions. So bring on USC, Florida, Arkansas, Notre Dame, or Michigan....let's go.
I want that crystal football.

MTown,
My allegiance is with Ohio State to win the national championship as they have won my respect. I don't really see Michigan getting a shot at the national title but then again with the BCS, you never know what will happen.
Remember when Colorado beat Nebraska in 2000 and Nebraska still got the shot at Miami instead of Oregon State?

Here are the reasons OSU should be playing UM in the BCS Championship:
1. No team with only 1 loss can say their "loss" was a better game than UM's 3 point loss to the Bucks
2. USC loses to Oregon who is UNRANKED
3. Arkansas was crushed
4. Notre Dame was blown out by Michigan
That said, I don't look for UM in the title game.

Here are the reasons Michigan shouldn't play OSU in the Championship game!
THEY LOST TO OSU! As much as some want to say "but it was only by 3 points" IT DOESN't MATTER if it's by 3, or by !! like it was with 2:17 to go in the game! A LOSS is a LOSS is a LOSS!
And this just in Warren1st! YOU, ME, and NOBODY ELSE CAN SAY THAT 1 loss is any less significant then any other, because all of the teams don't play each other! You want to keep talking about the beating UM put on ND? Why is that so impressive? ND has lonly beaten 1 top 25 team and that was Ga. Tech in week 1 by 4! Just how big of a win is it when a team beats the most over rated team in D-1 football?
See UM in the Rose Bowl! I hope they can win, otherwise there's gonna be a barrage of smack talk about NOT BEING THE #2 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY!
And "IF" OSU loses in the Championship game, I'll be right here willing to take my harrasment from you! Deal?

*That was the Oregon STATE Beavers that beat USC, in fact opened a can of whup-ass on them.
*Arkansas who had a can of whup-ass opened on them by USC, managed to make it all they way to #5 only 2 spots behind USC and only 1 spot behind now #4 ranked Florida who had a can of whup-ass opened by them by Auburn who previously had a can of whup-ass on opened on them by Arkansas.
*UM's whupin-ass of ND should not matter, because, well, it just wouldn't be fair for USC, Florida, Rutgers or LSU either.

they actaully lost to Oregon State.but yes the Wolverines do deserve to be there more than any other team, espically since the coach at Florida is such a cry baby. If Florida played Michigan they would get manhandled.

I'm an Ohio State fan, but I believe that:
The two best teams should be in the Championship game, and IMO Ohio State and Michigan are those two teams.
If the two best teams don't play ... then it's not a Championship Game.

Very well said.
For me it is between USC and Michigan. Michigan has an advantage in that they only lost by 3 at #1OSU. If USC wins out, their strength of schedule helps them out. I think Arkansas, who is out now, will beat Florida which would put them out. Personally I feel Michigan is better.
Alot of people will be watching USC vs. Notre Dame tonight.

Show me where Urban Meyer has cried about anything. Where do you people in Massillon actually GET your idiotic information?

#5 for Arkansas is a beast. Glad OSU won't have to face him.

I doubt it now. They only beat unranked Florida State by a touchdown and had to score late to do it. I think it's USC's to lose now.

i believe (and i'm not completely sure exactly what was said) that meyer made some comment last week about how a playoff was needed and how this year without a playoff it would be really unfair.....or something like that. many people ripped on him for his comments, since they felt like he didn't have any reason to complain when he still had a game against fsu and arkansas to play.

I hope more coaches start talking like that. We do need a playoff system. I do not understand how a 4, 8, or even 16 game playoff can not be incorporated into the present day bowl system. Some of the early bowl games are a joke. You can't tell me that a 1 vs. 8 matchup the week before Christmas is not better than some 6-6 vs. 7-5 middle of the whatever conference teams.

I don't either. I would think that it would generate more money. Unless it is one of the major bowl games, I usually don't watch it unless I am completely bored and had enough FFF (forced family fun) during the holidays. I try to keep up with scores of the Big Ten teams, but other than that and the major bowl games I don't really care.

If UF finishes 12-1 and misses the title game after undefeated Auburn was shunned a couple of years ago, you can almost bet that the SEC will start screaming for some kind of a change.

Good article about who should play OSU in the championship game. I listened to the Appalachian State vs. Coastal Carolina game in the car yesterday wishing that D.I had a playoff system.

Good article about who should play OSU in the championship game. It sums it up very well. College football needs a playoff system.
