Ok......I swear for the sake of you Buckeye radicals, I'm going to get this done and over with.
Truly Ohio State had the tougher football team in the end. And they were tougher than everyone they faced against all season. The 103rd Michigan-Ohio State game was a classic that rightfully put #2 against #1. Ohio State showed me something I hadn't seen out of them all season: they could take numerous amounts of punishment but give punishment back in return.
Ohio State made the plays when it counted the most. It wasn't a case of Michigan giving up too many big plays (2004), or them getting worn down in the fourth quarter (2005)...it was a case of Ohio State just simply being better and having the tougher football team in the end. No excuses on that.
Unfortunately, someone had to lose this game. And for the last two out of three years, Michigan was undefeated in conference play going into the rivalry game only to have their loss coming at the hands of seven-time national champion Ohio State.
Jim Tressel is truly a legend in the making at Ohio State. Aside from breaking a streak that John Cooper started in 1995 (OSU #1 in the nation and losing to Michigan), Tressel broke that string and he in my eyes is deserving of the national coach of the year honor. Under his leadership, they excel in all three phases of the game, offense, defense, and special teams.
I'll never have a bad word to say about Ohio State as long as he is their commander or for that matter. Michigan at best would be suited for the Rose Bowl as I don't think a rematch is necessary as that was their national championship opportunity...OSU proved they were the tougher team and #1 in the nation and Big Ten champions and are deserving of their second national championship (Tressel already has the same amount of titles as the entire Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and Dallas Cowboys franchises have Super Bowl titles  ).
They are a very good team and I wish them nothing but the best of luck regardless of whoever it is they play against in the national championship............what more can I say...they are just a fundamentally sound football team. I'll be cheering for them as they have finally done something that John Harold Cooper could never do: win over my respect.
I had my fun back in early February. Now it's time to have yours. Now go start shopping for a national championship tailgate party............
