"The Pentagon's closely guarded review of how to improve the situation in Iraq has outlined three basic options: Send in more troops, shrink the force but stay longer, or pull out, according to senior defense officials.
Insiders have dubbed the options "Go Big," "Go Long" and "Go Home." The group conducting the review is likely to recommend a combination of a small, short-term increase in U.S. troops and a long-term commitment to stepped-up training and advising of Iraqi forces, the officials said..."

As long as we are having our brave soldiers die for them, the Iraqis will never stand up. The Generals and White House have been saying ever since the invasion started that when they stand up we stand down. How long does it take to train them to stand up. It is time for the supporters of this war to admit that it was a mistake a we need to find a way to leave this country.

..........this review is taking "stating the obvious" to a new level....this administration has tried to put a guilt trip on free thinking more then any i have ever observed.....i feel it is time to talk with iran, syria, north korea and the world.....if it fails what have we lost?.....the old chamberlain comparision does not apply here as where they say he appeased hitler i do not see us appeasing al quida by talking with governments....imho

And some of you still try to say it's not Viet Nam all over again...
Oh yea, that's right, the difference is that we had a draft then.

LOL Seeker you're right on Man!
Read the other thread about the draft being reinstated.
Is anybody old enough to remember Fish Cheer and the I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag?
After reading these two posts this morning, its playing in my head right now!
Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds —
The only good commie is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Huh!
Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.
And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

I couldn't find "STAY THE COURSE" or, "THE LIBERAL MEDIA JUST DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ALL OF THE GOOD THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING" or, "WE'RE WINNING THIS WAR BUT IT'S UNFORTUNATE THAT THIS GENERATION DOESN"T HAVE THE STOMACH FOR WAR THAT OTHER GENERATIONS HAVE HAD" anywhere in the story! :scratchchin:
