Here are some interesting stats.
In the past 18 years (Lee Owens thru Tom Stacy), Massillon qualified for the playoffs 11 times and probably would have twice more with the 6-division setup. Had next year's alignment been in effect throughout these 18 years, the Tigers would have qualified 16 times in Division 1 and 15 times in Division 2. So it probably doesn't matter what division we're in regarding ease of qualifying.
Surprisingly, Rose's 5-5 team of 1992 would have qualified in either division and Shepas' 4-6 team of 2003 would have qualified in Division 1, since the opponents all did well that year.
